I broke yesterday!!! DAMN DAMN DAMN!!! I had 3 cigarettes yesterday afternoon!!! I even bought a small packet of 20's. I was having an awful day!! I was so mad at myself!!!

So.....I thought "this is it, you're back smoking again!! You lasted TEN days" HOWEVER, thismorning I did not have ONE craving nor did I ever have the urge to chew a bit of gum or have one of those tic tac things!!

I know this sounds crazy, but I deliberately had a cigarette this morning on my way to work to see how I felt. It was the most DISGUSTING taste & smell I have ever known!!! I got a head spin, threw half of it away & felt so sick in the stomach. I sprayed nearly a whole can of body spray & couldnt wait to get to my desk to get some minty chewing gum (the normal stuff, not nicorette) I swear, nothing was taking that darn awful taste away.

It is now 12:31pm & I havent had a desire WHAT SO EVER to have a cigarette or even use any of my NRT's!!!!!!!

Im kinda thinking that Im not going to bad afterall, a minor slip up, but Im not disappointed in myself anymore!!

Hope everyone else is going well too!!

Have a great weekend!!

Hi Jodie, I think every experience in this journey is a learning experience, and you learned a few things from your slip up. Sounds like you've put it behind you and powering forward as a non-smoker. Well done!

Do not despair, it's only a slip up, I did the same thing last Saturday night, smoked 5 and when I woke up in the morning realizing I had a pack of smokes I actually cheered before sparking one up, heaving, throwing it away and then putting a patch on and giving the smokes away. You are doing something that we are all finding extremely hard, just keep on keeping on.

It is posts like this one that help me when I get a craving for a smoke - I think "they didn't enjoy the experience and neither would I" so I put the urge away.

Even if you break and have a smoke, by telling us your story, you are helping others. I am on day 33 and know that I still have a long way to go.

Hey JodieRW,

Dont beat yourself up too much about it, we live and we learn.

Just pick yourself up, get back on track and Im sure this experience will give you more strength. All in all what;s a few fags in the whole picture. 12 months down the track it wont mean anything.

so stay focused and power to you xoxoxox
