Struggling
Hi all, my quit date was yesterday I did reasonably well. I find it hard at night as I guess being a shiftworker I tend to smoke more at night. Well I don't know if anyone else has the same problem with jumpy/restless legs as I am struggling with this issue any hits on how to resolve this? I am not using any replacement things as before with the patches i had a reaction so not keen on replacement eg patches, gum etc.
I decide to try and quit again as my boyfriend has been nagging me for some months to quit and it is also antisocial these days. I came accross this website and have found so much information it is great. I don't think people understand withdrawals from smoking as much as if you were withdrawing from drugs or alcohol there is an abundance of detox units around but not for smoking which is an addition, i would love to sleep stright for 5 or so days and wake up and be a non smoker no withdrawals etc anyway not to be so hope I have a better day today

the first 3 weeks was hard for me and i went cold turkey after 29years and 25 ciggy,s a day i am now 62days smoke free and it doesnt bother me anymore i even forget about those filthy things at times that is when you know you are over them. anyway good luck dont give up you can do it.

Hang in there. I dont think I could do it cold turky. The Gum has been my backstop and has worked so far.
Good luck

Please be careful if u use.champix and speak to your Dr about the side effects as they can be nasty.... My experience with champix was nasty :(
I hear u about the sleeping.... Hang in there, maybe try some chewing gum, drink plenty of water and keep reminding yourself why you are doing it. It is hard and sometimes very frustrating, but so worth it in the long run. Hang in there.
