schedule 18 Jan 2012

I am 19 and have smoked for 4 years. i think i am too young to throw my life away so i signed up to this site and have a goal to quit and better my fitness and start training. i hid the smoking from my parents for 2 years before i finally came and told them. my parents are both smokers so it wasnt too hard on me even though they didnt accept me that i smoke but because i told them they told me i could smoke. which i wish they didnt cause i would of given up there and then. now 2 years on i am ready to quit and my parents also said if i can quit ..they can quit aswell. my girlfriend also smokes and if free to do so. but when we first met she didnt smoke but out of spite, tried a smoke and started smoking i could not be a hipocrite in this mannor so i said to her last week, "if i quit you will?" and she agreed apon our descussion. Now we are both on the road to quitting. If anyone has any good advice and methods of quitting please do not hessitate to let me know your methods of quitting because i am up to try anything anyone is willing to share. i want to get my money back on track and my fitness back to a reasonably 19 year old level.

i spend at least $27 a day on a packet of smokes because me and my girlfriend share my packet of 40's. on average we smoke 20 smokes a day. please if there is any advice please feel free to give some.

thankyou for reading.

I have friends who tried nicotine patches and smoked even more. Cold turkey, try it.

Dr. Feelgood is right.. There are so many different ways to quit and it is all about finding what is right for you.. Browse through the Methods to Quit on this website if you wanted to check them out in detail.. There are many useful resources on here..

Personally i tried Cold Turkey many times and failed miserably, but this time around tried the patches and i really like them.. Take the edge off a bit so im not so angry or moody..

Whatever method you choose good luck on your journey :-)
