Here goes....
Hi. Just joined I can quit today. Ive been reading your posts and they are so encouraging - thank you! I'm on day 3 of champix and counting down to quit day - 1st January. It's not actually a new years resolution - tried that before and crashed & burned big time. I'm still scared to quit at this point but I'll be getting on a plane for a 3 week holiday o/s on the first so it's a good time to stop. My husband quit in August - was in hospital with a spinal injury so he couldn't get up n go (he's much improved now and still a non-smoker) so now that I'm over the stress of that trauma it's time I did myself a favor. I'm going to re-read Allan Carrs Easy Way To Stop Smoking and actually finish it this time! Stopped half way through because I was scared to quit! How's that for commitment. Anyway, I'll be a regular visitor here now so if you've any hints, tips, comments, feel free to post. Looking forward to getting to know you all. Cheers!
Thank you dr feelgood! I have been smoking all my adult life so I've a lot to learn about dealing with stress, what to do with my hands, etc. Sounds like small stuff but they're big to me. I'm gearing up for quit day though - reading this site, books, etc. Hopefully i'll start looking forward to quitting rather than being frightened by it.

You are lucky to have Champax on your side you are going to see in the new year with a smile because every time you see another smoker smoke you are going to be happy you have quit it's so easy celebrate you are free soon
Eric, Sparky and Roseyk - thank you for your stories and encouragement - so helpful. I wish you all a blessed Christmas and a fabulous new year. I will use this site during cravings and get rid of all paraphernalia - great tips - thank you. Hopefully I'll be celebrating being a non-smoker in a few days.

Just do it Linda (to quote Nike), you can do it, if I can do it anybody can and nthis is the greatest resource you'll get to help you along, and make sure you finish reading Alan Carr it is a valid book. Good luck
