Going well

Well, one day down, thousands to go... I have made it through one day without a cigarette! It was hard, but the patches and inhaler are sure helping. I even managed to say no to a smoke today. One of my friends asked me for a smoke, and i managed to say no. It was hard, but I made it. Might be starting on champix soon. Any opinions on champix?

Hi Courtney, Im currently on champix and it's day 7 smoke free!!!! I'm a huge advocate of champix. I have previously tried NRT patches and gum. Whilst the patches were good, I still really struggled every day, I constantly craved cigarettes. I have noticed with champix that this is different, I can go for hours and the thought of a smoke doesn't enter my mind. Of course with the good, there does come a bad! For about 4 days i had nausea in the morning and night after taking them, but it is temporary and passes fairly quickly. I say give them a go, they are amazing.

Goodluck and congrats on day one :)

I personally know of three really heavy, long term smokers who have remained smoke free for well over 12mths by using champix for the recommended 12 week program.

Thank you everyone for commenting. your comments have been very helpful for me. I will give champix a go, but as soon as I feel any negative side effects I will stop the champix. Thank you again everyone.
