Hi all, after much deliberation with my wife, I have decided to quit after 15 years of smoking. I want to teach my kids to be healthy and be an active part in thier lives and also my health and financial gains to be had!

Well I started this morning and woke up, straight to make my morning coffee (remember tomorrow, NO MORNING COFFEE!) ... cravings were bad as I always have a coffee and cigarette in the morning. I managed to go until just now, 2.5hrs before having a smoke and to be honest, I do not feel like I have failed yet, just finding triggers and learning to avoid them ... next target is to make it through the rest of the day, smoke free! ... so here goes!

Aaaaahhh.....the killer morning coffee. I gave up smoking on NY morning and couldn't drink coffee for 3 days as it triggered my temtation to have a ciggie. I am now able to have a cuppa and even though the urge still does come I am able to overcome it and usually follow the coffee up with a bit of gum instead :)(i'm going to have the most beautiful teeth soon haha) Good luck to you....any effort is a good effort and i'm sure we will be super proud of our selves when we accomplish a fit and healthy SMOKEFREE lifestyle. If not for ourselves...for our children. Stay strong :)

Ha! Yes I know exactly what you mean...today is my first day and I didn't have a coffee until at least 2 hrs after I got out of bed.

Mitzee, your comments to xJackx were really nice, and I'm glad you posted them there so that everyone can benefit...thankyou!
