how to deal with other smokers

Posted in Hints and tips 29 Sep 2016

Especially in the beginning it helps me a lot NOT to say to others i stopped smoking (ONLY close family members).

When a smoking friend asks me : Did you stop smoking ? I now answer .. No i had a smoke a couple of hours ago and am fine now.

The reason i say this it helps to escape the social pressure from smoking friends. In the past i saw that when i stopped all of them are always very interested and i need to argument my decision to them. It is my decision and nobody's else. when i reach 31 days is will start practicing to say : Yes i stopped smoking !

Maybe it helps you guys too ;)

Ha! I did the same thing! I told NO ONE that I had quit smoking until I was almost a week out. I didn't make it known publicly until I was over two weeks out.

I didn't want the pressure and I didn't want to jinx myself either. If I decided to go back to smoking within the first few days, nobody would shame me if nobody had known that I was trying to quit.

Glad I'm not the only one who dealt with the quit this way.

Hi I told every body. So if I even thought of having 1 Someone was there to say you will have to do day 1 all over again. 3 mths for me now. But I have a lot of non smoking friends. The ones that do smoke were behind me all the way. good luck. 1 day at a time. You can do it.
