I smoked my last Cigarette 3 years, 5 months, and two weeks ago. A trick I learned very early on in my quit process helps me beat the cravings. That trick is to remember that the cravings I used to get rid of by lighting-up will go away whether I light-up or not. Those cravings do not last one bit longer by waiting them out than they do by lighting-up. So, the only difference is that if I wait them out rather than lighting-up, I have put that much more time between my last cigarette and now. I have given myself a bit more time to learn that the more time between quitting and now means less frequent and milder cravings. Force yourself to focus on those facts when the withdrawal symptoms begin. Remind yourself that the craving will stop whether you light-up or not. Since it is six of one or a half-dozen of the other you will be far better off waiting it out than lighting-up. The reward is better health, more money, and a return of self-respect and personal control of your life. YOU CAN DO THIS!
