Thanks to this site many of us will survive not only the cravings but also the credit card blow out of previous years at Christmas. Let us know after the silly season if you are feeling less stressed because you have not totally blown the budget. Let us know if you are more in control your money. Let us know if you are totally surprised! I know I will be. Cheers & Happy Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas to you Lia. You are a big poster to this site and there have been many posts you have made that have given me food for thought and have helped me in a big way when I have been struggling.

I am definitely in a much better place financially this Christmas than I would have been if I had continued to smoke (All presents purchased way in advance and I did not have to use a credit card!!!).

I have not spent about $1,000 on cigarettes since stopping smoking and I believe the real amount I have saved would probably be double this as one of my tools when quitting smoking was to simply not carry money on me (I had a habit of just frittering away the change I received when buying cigarettes). I have continued this practice.

I had planned a two week O/S holiday for April. If I had continued to smoke I would have struggled right up until the date of departure to have enough spending money for when I am away. Because I have not been smoking I have already purchased enough currency as spending money for the trip. I have just booked a second two week O/S holiday for April (yes away for two weeks, home for four days and then away again for two more weeks) and today I will purchase about 30% of the spending money I will need for the second trip. None of this would have been remotely possible if I had continued to smoke.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. May 2016 be a smoke free year for everyone.

Hi Threds, it's so fantastic that you're able to see tangible results from not smoking. I hope you have amazing holidays in April; you deserve them. Merry Christmas to everyone; including you Lia and Iwillbeatit. You've all been such great support for everyone who's trying to stop smoking and stay smoke free.
