Hi everyone.

I quit a week ago and am managing better than I thought. I was smoking 8-10 a day for 22 years. Im loving how supporting this forum is and alot of you are truly amazing. Well done and thank you for sharing your stories. Its so good to know we are all in this together.

Im using the patches and the gum when I feel strong cravings. Im so thankful for NRT!

Im noticing Im feeling very tired. Is this normal? When did you notice the cravings to slow down?

Thanks for your advice in advance

It starts with one day. Then one week. No sense giving up this journey now. Enjoy one day at a time. That number will grow to many more digits and your life will be a longer healthier one. People who have never smoked are so lucky, not to mention inexplicably sensible. At last many of us have finally woken up. Enjoy the ride...

Well done jenflav - that is the first of many milestones for you. This forum will help you through thick and thin. I am at Day 30 today and I am still a little tired. I have experienced quite strong cravings today but I think I went for about a week with only minor ones a couple of times a day. I think they slowed down between about Day 16 and Day 22-ish but I know it is different for everyone. When they are uncomfortable as they have been today, I just think 'well I can go to bed early and it will be all over for the day'. I have had a few lollies at work to keep me focussed on my work also. Just keep taking it one day at a time and you will beat them! Good luck.

Hi Jencongratulations on ticking off the first of many milestones. It feels good to get that first week out of the way. I am have just finished using patches and found them very effective. I followed the instructions to the dot and cut down to the low mg by week 12. I found them really effective, no fuss. I didn't use anything else. I was very tired in the beginning and I think that has to do with the fact that it us emotionally draining. Hang in there it does get better, just gotta remain focused and determined and bite the journey into small chunks. Xx
