Wanting

schedule 18 Sep 2015

The only thing that combats my urgent want to have a cigarette is an even more powerful and deeper want to not want. In the past I have reacted strongly to a craving and felt a great sense of loss at not being able to fulfil it. That has always led to me smoking again. Now I am trying so hard to concentrate on how it will feel when I no longer have wants and urges. I think at Day 26 they are diminishing a little although they still regularly flood my body just to let me know they are still there. All I can do in those moments is project forward to a time when, if I resist now, they won't come back.

Hi Fullofhop, thank you for you kind words on my post.day 24 only 4 more days and you get to tick the one month box when you log in, now that's something to look forward to. One thing in your favour is the deeper want to not want it. I was a bit loopy around day 24 and purchased a poncho and everyone wanted to pat my poncho caus it was soooo soft.time to put on that happy song and dance around the kitchen because it sounds like you have conquered so many cravings and for that you should be very happy and proud. Like a true Virgo I've now taken up the OCD activity of weeding the grass which I find relaxing and only another Virgo would understand the pleasure.i know , very sad that I've turned to that.Anyway if you hear a loud whirring sound at you house that is a huge flock of fairies that I'm sending to you with lots of power to keep you on top of the cravings. You are going good just hang in there and keep those gremlins at bay xx

Well done Fullofhope for not giving in - I like how you say the deeper want to "not want"! Keep resisting and keep reminding yourself how much better you feel without them. Continuously read back on your list of positives: you are healthier, you can breathe deep, you smell better, your teeth are whiter, your skin is refreshed, you are not so tired, you have more time, you have loads more money, you are surely happier, believe it or not you are actually less stressed & anxious! The list goes on & on.

Thanks everyone for all your support. It means so much. And, Nannette, boy did I need those fairies yesterday - so glad you sent them for a visit because I got through the day despite the odds.
