Just Do it

My daughters and my son have been brothering me for years to quit. I have smoked for forty years a pac a day sometimes more. My youngest daughter bought me the book by Allen Carr s easy way to stop smoking which I had read twice through and I read through my highlights for the third time . Along with his book I used Gods word as well yo mediate through the process as Allen Carr mentions in his book that you have to have the same desire as you have to smoke but the desire to be switched to I don't smoke and I don't smoke yeah I m free and I used the passage from God s word where it says "to whom the son (Jesus) has set free is free indeed! (John 8:36) no cravings this is so easy, I have to thank my God, my daughters and Allen Carr's book. When I came to the day I decided to do this. I had a visit with my youngest daughter and she asked me if I read the book ... Of course twice through ... Well she said to me "just do it " ... I went to go see my doctor about possibly using nicotine replacement therapy but he doctor said to "just do it" I opened my bible to a passage in Numbers 13:30

Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

Again there was the word and third time a confirmation from God " Just Do it"

I believe God has given me the grace to go through with this with so much ease I can hardly believe it my self. I have tried in the last to quit and it was such torture. There are no words to describe this freedom. Other than I can say I am truly free! Thank you Jesus

I hope this may help someone out there who has tried and tried and almost died trying.

To all out there who need hope.

You are so correct. At the end of the day you just have to make that scary decision and "Just do it"All the messages you have found in your readings point to a message that you can "just do it"so nice to have children who are so supportive it really seven year old made me a beautiful star chart and if I'm having a bad day she tells me to "believe in yourself mum, you can do this" we celebrate my success every day with a big star on my chart. Way to go Nannette, I m so happy for you. Keep it up, never give up. Awesome that you have child that also encourages you!

Everyday to remind me of another day of success my son also puts a sticker (hot air balloons with smiley faces) on my big wall calendar and tells me "you are rising mom, you are getting higher and brighter".
    God Bless
