Well here I am, a year to the day after I decided to quit smoking. 365 days smoke-free. There were times I never, ever thought I would get here. At times I thought I was going crazy, that I would never be the same. It was foggy and yuck and I didn't like who I was without ciggies. It felt like losing a best friend.
But I did it. I pushed through - and you can too! I don't care if it sounds cheer-leaderer. I don't care if it sounds boastful -it's possible, and if I can do it, then you certainly can.
The fog lifts eventually. Each week gets clearer, and each milestone the smile becomes wider until one day it gets to 5pm and you say to yourself," I didn't think about smoking today."
And then the day comes when you say," I didn't think about smoking at all yesterday!"
That's not to say you won't get the urge - you do. At pubs, or in the car, or when you're really stressed. But the more time goes on - the more calm you feel about shrugging it off. You're a non-smoker. You don't want to.
I was a pack a day smoker. Unfit. Overweight.
Now, I go the gym everyday, have way more energy and have lost 10kgs.
TRUST ME when I say if I can do it you can too!
You will get through the tough times. You will succeed.
Onwards!!
