Vivid Smoking Dream

I had the most vivid dream that I had started smoking again last night.  I have never had any dreams I can remember about smoking before   In the dream I woke up got straight out of bed and sat on the back steps with my dog and lit up a cigarette. I could clearly see the old style picture packaging, I could smell the tobacco everything.  The dream was so real that I awoke for real got up and searched the house for the cigarettes.  Even though it was a dream I felt that I was going to have to start quitting all over again.  It was so weird.  Any similar experiences out there?  I hope it was not a portend.

The tricks your subconscious plays hey. I woke up this morning having dreamt that people were dying, in front of me, from poisoned Nicabate lozenges! And it was so real that I found it hard to actually use one, especially when I realised that they don't come with a tamper proof seal. Seems silly now, I think it's just been on my mind a bit that I'll need to start weaning myself off them soon.

I hope you've shaken off your dream now, I'm sure it's not an omen of any sort, more a good sign. Probably means you're thinking less about smoking than you were while you're awake!

Wow Dottily, it is like the crime channel in your head. You do not need any dream expert to work out what is going on there. I am glad that you got the better of that one, it must have been very scary indeed.

Yes thank you fully over it now, actually seems a bit stupid once you write it down and read it back lol. Even worse when I read your experience my dream just seems so trivial compared to yours. Good luck and I hope you sleep peacefully.

It's not that silly - I've had very vivid dreams. Since been on the patches I dreamed I lost one of my dogs in the park and couldn't find him- it woke me up and I had to go and check that they were both still in the house!!
I was told I would have very vivid dreams on the patches - on the whole they don't bother me - I quite enjoy them and at least I don't have nightmares like some people have experienced!
    Haven't dreamed about smoking yet...

Hey John, hope you realise I wasn't trying to trivialise your dream, just share the silly one I'd had. I haven't dreamt yet about actually smoking, but a few nights ago I had a dream that everyone around me was trying to tempt me with cigarettes, offering them to me, handing me lit ones and all sorts of crap. In my dream I resisted totally, and actually woke up feeling really good and strong. Crazy journey, isn't it?

    Dottily,

I understood where you were coming from. All I was trying to say is dreaming that I had a cigarette is in a whole different postcode to people dropping dead in front of you and that I was thankful for that.

A+E Thank you for your comments. I can understand your concern, loosing a dog is just awful. These dreams seem to be able to affect just the right, or wrong part of our being. I am just glad I do not seem to suffer too much from them. I normally do not remember dreams in any case so lucky there.
