I’ve been a drug addict many years ago… for me cigarettes are my last drug enjoyment. It’s not speed or smack or codeine.. I’m a massive drinker and that also needs addressing. I see a shrink weekly for childhood sexual abuse and violence. But it’s all up to me now. No excuses and no one is coming to save me. It’s all about choices and I want to make good choices for me now. This is my time!!

Hi Nooneiscoming and welcome to this fantastic community. We ALL have problems and for some, smoking is just one of their problems. I'm glad you came here and hope you will find some sort of a helping hand from this community. You are the one (the only one) to make your own choices and it looks like this might be your time. Your time to throw in the towel and break the addiction of nicotine. Looks like you have successfully tackled other addictions (good job) and you can successfully tackle nicotine addiction too. It also looks like you have been through a lot but that being said, perhaps it has made you stronger. Yes, no?

You are making such a good choice to quit smoking cigarettes. You are stronger than nicotine and you choose freedom. No dependencies. Won't it be nice to not worry about how many cigarettes you have left? And won't it be nice to know you don't need to get to the store before you run out of cigarettes? To top it off,... won't it be nice to save all that money spent on such a useless addiction? I know that because it is legal, it almost makes it seem to be acceptable and okay, but as you must know, it's not okay. The cigarettes are slowly destroying the inside and outside of your body and it is hurting your finances.

Some people can quit easily, some not. What I have learned from this site is that you really, really must work on your mindset and be positive about your quit. Get your mind into this, KNOW that you CAN do this, set the date, have your last cigarette and never have another puff, EVER! N.O.P.E. (Not One Puff Ever). Some use aids to help them, some (like myself), cut down until the quit date and some just make up their minds and never, ever smoke again.

Each of us are different, but all of us made the same choice, and that is to QUIT. Get it out of your life once and for all. We were once where you are now. You are not alone. Stay positive, you CAN do this!!! Keep us posted on your progress. We are cheering you on!!!

This IS your time and you are going to shine!

Keep up the amazing positivity. You have endured the past and made changes to leave it behind. You will succeed and you know that you can because you have made the positive changes before. Stay with us, share your invaluable insight with others and I hope some comments "resonate" with you and help your desire to an even better future easier.

Hi Nooneiscomingtosaveme. How are you doing? Did you set your date to quit yet? Have you already quit? Perhaps you are working on your mindset getting ready to quit?

You are correct,... No one is coming to save you EXCEPT YOU! You seem to know what you want. You know you can stop smoking. You have shown you are in control. Just checking in and sending you positive thoughts....
