Winners are grinners

Posted in Quit experiences 13 Oct 2021

Hi Quit Family,

Just wanted to say it is awesome to see so many new quitters on this site. Just goes to show how people are starting to wake up and take control back over their lives, fantastic. Smokers are now the minority and that is a great thing. Believe you can and you will.

It doesn’t matter how many times you try as long as you never give up trying. It doesn’t have to be a drawn out miserable journey, it doesn’t have to be hard. Want it, embrace it, look forward to every new day smoke free and it can be a very happy and rewarding time. It is up to you how you view it. Each craving is telling you that you have not let go of thinking like a smoker. You will not crave what you truly do not want. You are all winners because you are trying....legends.

Hi Robn, Yes, I cannot keep up with all the new quitters. It's great to see them post. I feel I am being a bit repetitive when people ask for suggestions. I truly hope they dig into reading some prior posts that will tell them some helpful hints and stories.

Your post is encouraging, positive and you say it as it is. You hit home when you said, "Each craving is telling you that you have not let go of thinking like a smoker". I think I am thinking like a smoker. You are absolutely correct. However, there is help. I can, we can, help ourselves by being in control and eliminating cravings. As time goes on, I personally think one begins to think more like a non-smoker as the cravings become less and less.

Great post Robn and for all the "Winners", keep up the good work!

Robn, I just want to thank you for your continuous support. You are a "seasoned" non-smoker and you come back countless times to hold the hands of "newbies" such as myself. I tip my hat to you for coming to this site, spending your valuable time just to offer your support to all of us. Thank you for your generous time and consideration. Best,...

Hi Nope-2021, thank you for your kind words. I remember how it felt to be quitting and scared of failing (which I did many Like most things that we want to get really good takes practice. But this site is great for encouragement, no judgement and being united in our goals. As time passes you will think less and less like a smoker. I now find it incredible that I ever smoked at all. You just have to make it something you don’t want, rather than something you can’t have.
You are doing really really have quit....job done. And maintaining that quit gets easier and easier, until you are not even conscious of it. Well done to you and have an awesome day x
