Good morning

(Here we go again). I lasted 3 days last week and am approaching the end of my packet. I can’t deal with cutting down so my approach to quit cold turkey and go on patches hasn’t changed. I somehow have to get through the mood drops. I realised last week that when I did start smoking my mood actually didn’t improve, I ‘just’ continued to be depressed and anxious. So I’m trying to focus on that.

I’ll talk to the Quitline later on today and go through my reasons & strategies again. Wish me luck.

Have a lovely start to the week x

I wish you luck, but more than that I want you to believe in yourself. Now you mention cold turkey as well as Champix. Do be aware that Champix can have a side affect of a change of mood , to a suicidal tendancy. Not to dissuade you, but discontinue it if those close to you see a dramatic change in your demeanor. Let someone know that you are using it.
    Better safe than sorry...
Warnings aside, I do believe Champix aids in ridding one of the nicotine addiction. Still we do need to change how we view smoking. If It comes down to just abstaining rather than truly wanting to quit for our freedom and other reasons, can it really last longer than the use of an aid?

Find your reasons for quitting and embrace the brighter future than awaits you. Surely it will bring better health, wealth and confidence if not other great rewards. ....pride, self assurance and respect......not to mention no longer having to find a time and place to indulge in our fix.....
i am proud of you for having come back to try again so very soon.
You can do it, the community knows it, now you need to believe it!
