Day 24 SF. Many many quit attempts. Longest quit time was 6?weeks about 3 years ago. This time I’m ready to make sure it’s a permanent change.

My motto is

Not

One

Puff

Ever

NOPE

I borrowed that from elsewhere but find it a very powerful reminder that I will always be just one puff away from going back to full blown smoking addiction. Using Nicotine patches is helpful for me. My first two weeks I hired a PT and went to the gym every day to reinforce my increasing cardiovascular improvements. And I have bought treats for myself with the money I saved. ( I won’t continue to do this but it helped for these first three weeks). My sleep is severely affected and have had to take naps during day. Going to start on Melatonin today as my body clock is way out of whack. I find going to the gym each morning a really strong reinforcer of my commitment to better health and increased longevity. I’m 62(a couple of days ago birthday), love my longboard surfing, mountain bike riding, hiking. Really noticing I can breathe better when doing any vigorous activity and truly loving the improvement! Never give up giving up. Smoking adds nothing to my life, it only ever took it away, but by bit. And cravings pass in a matter of moments. We can do hard things!

Well done, Finally ready, I advocate that mantra, it worked for me, after a few goes, and combined with this forum, how could you not succeed. Stay Happy and Strong, and keep well in your part of the world. NOPE (not one puff ever) We are all with you.
