Deny yourself the coffee/caffeine

I have always found that denying yourself the caffeine and the coffee and all the rest is a sure shot to it -- the quitting of cigarettes. I needed a redo of the whole thing. It's alright. But the days of which I stayed smokefree are still that.

Will power comes in and it is a huge factor. How much do you wish to just end this thing? Then a lot of the time it comes around that you do have a lot of will power. The inner strength that you find when you really have got to keep going.

Anyway, don't mess the will power up. Tell it to rear it's ugly head all the time. Keeping being there so much.

The cravings are so small it should seem like.

    Hello again rmd. Yes I was a coffee-holic. For me the habit of drinking coffee and having that cigarette, went together, it took me quite a long while to work out that it would be best to give up the coffee. I now have one coffee in the morning and de-cafe the rest of the time, feel so much better for it.

    I am glad that you found what worked for you rmd. Cutting out caffeine completely would have given me caffeine withdrawal headaches. It is true that nicotine diminished the effects of caffeine, so we should cut the caffeine down (by half, I have read) so as not to get the jitters and confuse that with anxiety. We always smoked more with alcohol which also had us reach for another smoke sooner.

    We have to remember that we have decided to say enough to smoking, not hanging with our friends and doing things that we enjoy.
    Make up your mind and the body will follow.
