One month down (28 day technically). I haven't logged back on here in the last couple of weeks, so it was nice to see people like Jess still staying strong. 28 days ago I was an absolute wreck. Smoking nearly 2 packs a day for 12 years to quitting cold turkey was rough. But now that's its been a month, and 1,000% easier, I love how I feel now.
For a recap, I binged jolly ranchers, Netflix, video games, ice cream..... anything else that was edible. My mental goal was to give myself everything that I wanted that wasn't a cigarette, and not stress or beat myself up over it for 21 days. And it worked!! Yes, it was still EXTREMELY HARD, and I wasn't really okay even at the 21 day point, I still had struggles, but they were manageable. But today for example, I thought about it a couple times, had to take a couple deep breathes, but out of the entire day, that took about 2 minutes of it.
But since it was cold turkey, there is ZERO stress about weening myself from NRTs and experiencing minor withdraws. I quit some time ago using CHANTIX and I quit for 3 months. But I stressed about when I would stop, then when I did I had withdraws and relapsed (I said just one was okay lol).
Now its been a month, no NRTs, not one cigarette for ANY reason. Back in the gym working off the metric ton of ice cream and jolly ranchers I consumed. Feeling absolutely great. =]
