So far so good

Posted in Quit experiences 24 May 2021

Hey guys, I was reading many various testimonies and I thought I should join the forum and share my experiences while making sure I stay on track. It’s been roughly past a month since I quit smoking. It has been a rollercoaster and I had many challenges especially on the withdrawals side. I had them all and they hit hard, I’m glad I stood by my decision and kept strong because the symptoms don’t last forever. However I got some few side effects still here and there I’m more determined to get and feel better. I hope this encourages someone to stay strong and hang in there it’ll get better with time.

Just keep thinking positive. Things do get better as you pointed out. Be happy with the decision to quit smoking and it can be put behind you very quickly.

@softly40 thank you for your kind words made my day! I meant side effects as in the withdrawals which were really bad in the beginning but wore off soon after around 2 weeks. Now I’m dealing with the aftermath and I get dizziness and some back pain which I guess is normal due to the changes my body is going through. Otherwise I’m so grateful for this forum as it shows me I’m not alone in my struggles and we’re all human. Thanks again for your kind words and I will keep it in mind to stay strong and never smoke again.

Welcome doingjustfine, I am so glad to hear that you have kept close to us all by reading our posts, this does help you and posting helps everybody. Staying strong in your decision is one of the best ways to go. I have and still use NOPE (not one puff ever) every day after all this time. I gather that you still have thoughts or urges to smoke if that is what you mean by side effects. These are only thoughts so you can just let them go they will eventually disappear. Come back anytime, and reply to others if you want to. Well done!
