Can someone give me any tips how to handle stress

    Hello Katiegirl. I will assume that this is the anxiety or stress you feel since quitting smoking. When you embrace this endeavor rather than fear it, you will not be stressed. You are making it difficult in your own mind.

    Smoking never helped relieve stress. Smoking never did anything for us.
    Accept that.


    We were drugged and brainwashed and some of us smoked for decades believing that it was hard to quit and no self confidence that we could.
    Think positive.
    We can quit smoking and rather than focusing on the cravings , focus on the benefits .....the better taste, smell, blood pressure, and the freedom. The freedom from being its slave is best but seldom appreciated in the first stages.

    Diet, meditation, exercise, hugs, and things that make us feel good help with our stress and induce dopamine, which we are somewhat missing without that jolt of pleasure from nicotine to our sensors. Art, crafts, music, lthe smell of lavender, learning......anything that makes you feel good helps. Serotonin is found in foods for a happier mood enhancement.

    Self talk in the positive. Others do this and so can I . One day at a time. The cravings are but mere thoughts that will pass soon. Cravings are reminders that I am winning and he is starving . I am stronger than nicotine.

    Baby steps. You will get there. Just think positive.

    I just read that you were smoking 4 or 5 a day on the patch and taking Champix? More is not better. Who told you to do that?

    Champix is a problem in itself for some people. It can cause overwhelming mood swings and depression which has even led to suicide.

    Please choose one or the other.

    The doctor told me to have that course I was down to 10 so the doctor said do it that way to stop. I’ve stop the patches they made me smoke heaps

    I am glad that you have chosen one. I have never heard of combining them, nor do i see how that would work. Probably very dangerous.

    we are 94 days of not smoking, we are doing so much more in life and especially health so it’s win win for us. Keep up the great work every day and remember exercise.
