4th day with a flu

Hi everyone, today is my 4th day of being smoke free. 3 days 6 and half hours to be precise. I got a flu from today and i feel depressed for no reason. I dont want to smoke but i miss smoking so much. I feel very lost 🥺🥺

    You are over the hump and will feel better soon. Congratulations. Be proud of yourself for hanging in there. I hope you are reading, learning and adjusting your mind to life ahead as a non-smoker. We all go through life with things that we have to do. You can moan and groan or you can just get on with it.
    We can look forward to some things, like picking up the mail because it gets us out for a short walk, or you might hate to get the mail because you know that debt collector is threatening again.
    The actual act of getting the mail really has two entirely different feelings attached to it.
    Look forward to getting the mail. The debt collector might always hound you, but you can't or simply won't pay for what you feel you do not owe. You have made up your mind. The magazine subscription should be in, that letter from your cousin , and the item you ordered. Don't let one thing prevent you from enjoying all the rest. Get excited about what is to come. That kind of anticipation is what will drive you on and get you to freedom.

    Smoking just sucks you dry like a bill collector. Think of cigarettes like the bill collector. Change your way of thinking.

    Hello again Auroraa, What you are experiencing is the toxins being released from your body, it is sometimes termed loosley as smokers flue, or should I say non smokers flue, others have experienced this in some form or another and yet again others have not felt anything change in their bodies.

    Give yourself permission to rest as much as possible, and help yourself with loads of water to help with the release of toxins in your body. Do not count this as a minus it is your body showing you just how much poison you need to get rid of. Well done for keeping in touch

    You miss being a slave to a cigarette ?
    You miss wasting money to keep them off your back ?
    You miss having to find time, and a place to get your smoke in ?
    You miss slowly poisoning your body, and increasing your risk of cancer ? ?
    You will not miss, or crave, something you really do NOT WANT, so make up your mind. Let go of the want, and the quit gets easy :)

    Hi and welcome to this wonderful forum. First of all i hope you feel better soon, I have to ask is it the flu? or is it related to your smoking quit or something worse i.e. COVID? Sorry but I just have to ask!

    You know you don't want to smoke so that is good and a very positive thing to keep telling yourself during the withdrawals. This will pass, and each withdrawal/craving symptom will become easier to deal with and the time between each craving will increase, before long you will not even think about smoking or it will just be a fleeting thought.

    In so far as missing smoking, that is the psychological mind play. The addiction. You don't really miss it, you just think you do!
    Remember you are doing the right thing. Stay strong, you will get through it. Stopping smoking will not maim or kill you, but staying smoking will!!

    10th day today.. . Hang on there.. stop thinking that it's because you "quit". Try sipping on blk coffee when u feel low or bombarded with "quitting thoughts".. that's what actually helped me.
