Getting started

It's so great to have a free place to come to and share our experiences. I was going to quit on March 16, but then ended up going to a friend's birthday party. We choose friends who are similar to us so of course I had cigarette, and then another, and then ended up buying a pack. Now I've been smoke free for the third day today, and except for the occasional craving, the experience hasn't been too difficult. But those cravings when they come -- they don't last for long -- but they are intense. I really enjoy reading your posts. Thank you for sharing your stories.

    You were still thinking like a smoker. The more you can open your mind to the facts,, You are, or were, a slave to a cigarette. Smoking is an addiction. Smoking makes you stupid, that's how it works :) Accept these facts, and make a smoke something you simply do NOT WANT. Then the quit can be easy. You CAN do this :)

    Nicotine is an addictive drug and part of the dangers of smoking and drawing you back in.

    Learn all you can about this drug while you are going through your second go. I am glad you got back on your horse. While you are changing your lifestyle you might try meditation as a positive move, the one that worked for me was NOPE (not one puff ever) practiced evey day, this is a must.

    You will eventually come to the reasoning you do not ever want to smoke again, enjoy the benefits of being free.

    Hi Goodlands, you are doing really well. Keep reminding yourself why you want to quit, what you want to achieve. It need not be hard.....make a smoke something that you do not want....don’t think in terms of I can’t have one. When you can think this way it is far easier. One day at a can do this forever
