I truly believe that enough is enough

Posted in Getting started 05 Nov 2012

If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you always got! Hey guys, my name is Dean, i am 29 years old (30 in three months) and have been a rather heavy smoker for 15 years now. Thats right, half my life. Well i recognised the need to stop, and am now on my day 3 as a non smoker. I know it's only early days right now but i well and truly had enough of killing myself softly. I am doing it cold turkey, and yes its certainly challenging but i really want to feel the pain so that if i ever want to have a smoke again i will be able to remember the pain i went through. I am going to do my absolute best at avoinding all risks and contol craings as i believe that this will be a big learning control that i will be able to use for the rest of my life. Its about self control, will power and overall mind strength. I do not want to be weak NO LONGER! I am in charge and will do this! I want to succeed and i will need support from every one of you guys out there. So please do comment/chat as i believe by sharing stories we will all br stronger on this tough journey! Hang in there peeps, and remember we make our own choices for a reason.

Thanks guys!! You are all sooo awesome! Its day 5, i joined the gym today and committed myself for a year by paying upfront! I want to get addicted to th gym instead. It is so hard though, i am still thinking a lot about a cigarette, its even crossing my mind to just take a puff or two then put it out. But i know that this would be fairly weak of me. I will just try to battle on one day at a time, and hope that it will get easier as time goes on.

Also your body absorbs more caffeine now without nicotine. Ive cut right back to see if it will make a difference

Good on you, Dekty! Try having some chamomile tea before bed and some do some relaxation (let me know if you'd like an example).

    Keep being strong!
