Voice loss

Posted in Quit experiences 12 Nov 2020

I am just wondering if it’s normal to loose your voice after quitting or being on CHAMPIX?

Hello again Hmali, the answer to your questions is No. No voice problems and no one has mentioned this on this website, plenty of honey and tea might help. You should still mention this to your doctor. Good Job, and keep on going as you have planned.

Hi Hamali. So it is day 3 for you without a smoke. Awesome! I have been on this sight for 2 years and don't recall anyone ever losing their voice. Baby it and i am sure you will be fine in a day or two.

How are you getting along in the day to day without the normal cigarette breaks? Only you know how you feel about smoking after reading Allen Carr and how well you are dealing with the transition. You have to be honest with yourself. Of course you KNOW you should quit. think you want to quit, but is there some doubt? Are you still missing it? Then stay on the Champix. Nicotine is out of your system enough to not have control, you do, but will your mind accept it fully? Champix regulates the dopamine and helps keep us happy and helps to concentrate..

I just looked it up on a site "Betterhelp" but can't relay the link. It explains how drugs, they use an example of cocaine, but nicotine is also a drug that delivers chemicals to the brain to manufacture dopamine and rewards us with pleasure. Over time we are less able to produce it naturally, which is probably why some seem to have so much more withdrawl than others. To stay happy and focused through our quits perhaps we need to take time for little pleasures.......chocolate, sex, love, hugs, lavender and certain foods enhance the dopamine. Higher levels will help elevate you mood and memory retention. I hope this may help someone and they might research ways to increase dopamine.

Knowledge is power. Think positive! You CAN quit smoking.
