Posted in Quit experiences 02 Nov 2020

Hi everyone. Just an update I am almost 5 and a half months smoke free. But had another slip up today and had a smoke.

I'm not going to let it get in the way of my days counting as I Have not went back to been a full time smoker.

I had a very stressful week and let my guard down for a split second and caved.

But I am back on the horse and i am going to keep counting my days.

It happens so fast and was disappointed but not going to thing to much on it. I've gotten over the anger with myself and moving on.

Hi gemma23 good to hear from you. You sound like you're doing well keeping off the smokes just a bugger you are experiencing strong cravings in the mornings however most importantly you are smoke free. I wander if there is something nice you could do for yourself in the mornings that would take your mind away from cravings? Was there something you did differently with your previous quit to distract your mind in the morning? Unfortunately I am smoking like a chimney. Being a nonsmoker always feels so much better. I'm really glad to hear you have not given on beating this rotten disgusting soul zapping addiction. Xo 💃👯🤗🚣‍♀️

    Good on you jess
Well I have officially had my last 1 and that's it now no more for me.
It think because my partner has been away for the last week I was working towards the day before he is home to have my final 1 and well that day happened to be today. And I also want to do this for me again.
So that's it we start the journey again. 💃💃🥂🥂💪

Hi Gemma 🙋 I put a nicotine patch on today and am consciously taking all the steps I need to to become the nonsmoker I was not so long ago. I have been able to cut back on the amount of cigarettes I smoke by about a half 💃I'm getting there 😊have a super magical afternoon 💃🙌💕

  • Jessfreeof, Northern NSW November 23, 2020 | 23:23
🤣🐕🤣 I put a nicotine patch on today it helped me to cut back. I think I will need to keep cutting back before I completely stop. I have been picking up my excercise. It's always a bit of a process for me mentally and physically therefore I will be focusing on those two things. It's such a strong addiction. I will do it again. I don't think it will be tomorrow. I'm aiming for December 1st

Hi Gemma 🙋 I was not successful with being smoke free today. How did you go?
  • Jessfreeof, Northern NSW November 23, 2020 | 7:16
My partner smokes however he is aiming to be smoke free for 2021. The friends I see on a regular basis are nonsmokers and the friends and family that are smokers it is due to distance that I don't see them as often 😊

Yay💃I'm all done too. Be kind to and gentle on ourselves tomorrow. Not one puff ever. I recon a few days into being smoke free and it want take me long to have back all I had in my last attempt. It's not been all that long since we were non smokers I am so grateful to be doing it again whilst it's all still fresh in my mind. Let's get back what we so deserve 💃😊🌅🧘

Hi Gemma 🙋that sounds like a plan let's do it. I'm going to spend my time between now and beginning of December getting ready by cuttingy coffee and smoking back down again. I will reset my quitting date to December 1st. I am so looking forward to returning to be a non smoker. I love the freedom and self-confidence I gain when I'm a non smoker 🙌👯💃xo

Sounds good to me Gemma 🙌 my aim is to go into December being a non smoker. Let's remember all the great things about our recent trials of being non smokers. We accomplished that Gemma no one can take that from us. I'm taking all the gold nuggets from that attempt and bringing them into my next attempt. I recon we can do it once and for all this time we have the tools and skills with the practice we have had. Have a magical day Gemma ❤️🙌👯

Nope Nope Nope (not one puff ever) every day from now on Gemma, it does seep into your brain under any stressful situation, I found it better to work on why I felt stressed in certain situations, usually it came back as being hurt by something someone said or did. Work on how you are going to deal with this in the future, and definitely NOPE (not one puff ever) every single day. You can do it! and we are all with you! so do not give up or give in. come back soon

Spillled milk. No point in dwelling on it. You spend to much time thinking as it were it seems. Learn to dismiss the thoughts immediately. Have something at the ready to engage you mind and hands. I would not want to flirt with the devil too many times.....
Congratulations on almost five months, now another five and no slip ups! Soon you won't have these temptations. You will get the mindset fully and then nicotine man is toast! Cheers!

Thanks robin yes I did think that aftwr i had the smoke the well the situation is still the same. But i just let myself down but that's ok we all learn from these slip ups and carry on going forward
  • Robn November 02, 2020 | 21:07
Good girl Gemma, keep striving forward....but harden your resolve and know what your triggers are. If it is stress...know that having a smoke does not lessen the stress....just adds to it. If you can do five months, you can do forever and that is your goal. You have achieved so much...and much more to come. NOPE
