Today is day 20 and for some reason I find myself cranky and craving. I keep saying NOPE to myself but it’s really hard today. I was doing so well. Any ideas why this is happening now please.

    Hi, sometimes I think we fall into the trap of thinking we have it beat and we lose a bit of resolve. The three day, three week and three month markers seem to be when this happens. Stay strong, focus on your goal and keep going one day at a time, this will pass, you are doing great....don’t let the nico demon get into your thinking.

    Hi there its great to hear from you 😊 my suggestion would be call the quit line, take a walk, do some breathing excercises to get some good fresh air into them lungs of yours. Pick a person on this site and read all there stories from their first to their last. I read all of PuffNoMore last night and read all of mine today. I have had a major slip my self and found myself smoking for eleven days therefore today is day 1 for me. Just for today don't smoke and if you have to break it down just for this hour than the next than the next. Call the Quitline and talk to them about your crankiness and craving they often help me through my feelings. Good luck with it and great to hear from you 😊

    Thanks Robin, I did think I had it beat because I was doing so well. That’s interesting cause day 3 for me was a killer. But I did not let it beat me and I won’t this time either.

    Thanks jessfreeof. I did go out by myself for a few hours and it has helped a bit. I do read the stories when I’m struggling. Usually it helps but I haven’t been cranky like this before. I’m home noe by myself enjoying the calmness. NOPE for me.

    Hi Dicknose, good advice, our feelings of another nature other than smoking can always be looked at when you are cranky, it could be you are upset by something else. I found {"How to Grow to be a happy smoker" by NASIA DAVOS} a video on utube, very helpful it actually changes the way we think about certain situations if you are honest with yourself. Something will jump out for you to come to terms with when you are ready. I am Glad NOPE is your daily mantra (not one puff ever)
