Keep going whatever

Posted in Quit experiences 16 Jun 2020

Hi folks. Thought I would pop in to see who is about and share a bit. Thanks to this site I am 1743 days nicotine free. 4.77 years and still I cannot believe I have managed to kick the s**t out of Me Nick OTeen. I remember well the first few weeks quitting after 53 years of smoking. Fortunately this time I knew I would succeed. I told myself that I needed a deep down commitment and to suffer whatever came. For me it was cold turkey and strong sweet coffee. I have saved $43000 in cash but more important may well have saved my

Life. Good luck to everyone.

Hi Dobbin. Was hoping I would get a thumbs up from you. The fact that there is this 100 day difference spurs me on. Neither of us would ever like this to change. Neither willing to fail. Neither wishing to close the gap.
Just amazing that you decided to quit 100 days after me. I always hope those who helped along the way are still going strong. Hope you make a big noise on this site in August when 5 years has been attained. Thanks again for being such an awesome quit buddy.

Thanks all for your comments. Great that Red and Lia are still going strong and winning this fight to the death. That 100 days means so much Lia and you were the very first contact I made here. So a massive big thank you.

Hi Dobbin. So good to see you are still 100 days behind me and obviously staying for the long term. I also have saved $43300 after 5 yeas and a couple of weeks. Isn't life grand without the nicotine monster. Cold turkey was a good move for both of us and those times when things got tough I reckon we both figured they would pass and going back to day one quitting was not an option or a good plan. That first day was filled with so many emotions and mostly the uncertainty of what quitting would look like. This part of the trail looks pretty good. So good to be able to breathe. I can only wish for others to have a similar win.
