Keep Fighting

Posted in Staying quit 20 Jan 2020

Hi. This is my first ever visit to any of such community threads about smoking\noctine addiction.

I am 31 and had been smoking from last 13 years. I have been 38 days smoke free today (cold turkey) and I can assure you if you can sail through the first 2 weeks, it would be way easier going ahead. I have tried quitting before and had been successfull in being a non smoker for 1.5 years. A careless mistake on my part to get back to smoking.

I would suggest everyone to go through Allen Car's book for making your attempt a lot easier.

Hope to keep in touch with you all !!

I am sure that like millions of others we all can come out of this nicotine addition. I

Welcome PiyushInd, you are doing a fantastic job and joining this forum will give you lots of support.
You now know how easy it is to get trapped again...but now you know what we mean by having the right mindset, because when you do you will never be tempted to have even one puff, because you simply won’t want it.
Stay strong and are through the hardest part.

Thank you all for your support.
I have accepted the fact that I am a non smoker.
There have been multiple instances wherein I had the company of all smokers during a night out but could sail through without a single puff.

I would urge everyone not to avoid smokers as they are your real test. Once you are through, then is the realization phase of how marvellous life is without a cigarette.
