You dont need a smoke to cope

Posted in Quit experiences 10 Jan 2020

While i was out today, a young lady backed her car into mine. When i was a smoker, i would have reached for my smokes and puffed away frantically, believing that it was helping a stressful situation. Today, the thought of a smoke didnt even cross my mind. You dont need to smoke when things go wrong. Another reason to keep smoking, down the drain.

Hi Nuts. Just shows to go that the smoking brain is always on the lookout for excuses to light up be they good or bad. Coming up with more sensible ways to react to any situation is a constant reminder to us to be vigilant...

Glad you're ok. You are so together. It is exactly THE moment you grabbed a smoke.
It is so silly really! Such a stupid, stupid habit🐟

Sorry to hear of your fender bender. Smoking would not magically fix it or undo it. Smoking would have only increased the anxiety and made a mountain of a mole hill. I find that being nicotine free really makes you more relaxed and less apt to sweat the small stuff.
The car can be fixed quickly and none the wiser. Can you say the same for yourself if you broke?

Proud of you Nuts. You Rock!

Awesome to hear Nuts, just shows you the freedom when it's no longer a dependency that you think of to turn to. How true are those words, smoking doesn't fix anything, least of all stress. Thank you for sharing inspiration. What a legend😊
