I never doubted that once you jumped into your pledge to leave those smokes behind that you would stick to it. That much determination to never give in to desire for one more puff has got you at one magical year,.
You told us that you had made up your mind and I think that's the right mindset. Sure you had fear at first and used the nicorette patch just to ease that perceived threat but you soon realized that the fear was gone and the patch wasn't needed after a very short time.
I'm all for a cold turkey quit as the best and quickest way for those that already have the correct mindset, but also think there is definitely a place for other methods for those that fear the Quit to ease into it until they find the mindset that is needed. Wouldn't it be great to wave a magic wand to every smoker and give them the power to give it up! We know that some wont accept the invitation. We know that unless they truly want to be free they will continue smoking with the fear of a Quit later and with some people that Quit never comes.
Congratulations Nuts and I'm so inspired that you were ready to Quit one year ago>.

You were chomping at the bit rearing to go right from the start. You could see the finish line and nothing was holding you back. I wanted to help but I couldn't rein you in and was afraid you would get ahead of yourself and falter. Thankfully, I had not to worry long. You sped ahead taking everything in stride and looking straight ahead.
Not only did you show us an exemplary quit but did it with such optimism that you inspired others along the way. You , like many others have become like family on iCanQuit, taking time to support each other and this site while helping other so that they too can enjoy the life of a non-smoker.

Congratulations Nuts! One year seems like such a long time but it isn't really. It is the first year of a better life ahead for sure! Be proud and free Nuts. You deserve it! 👍❤🙏🦅
