    Well said Nuts,

This plea has been attempted a few times so I do hope your one is effective.
Everyone using every/any method needs all the support they can, so use this site for that support and not arguing about what method is better and which is not.
They all work for different individuals.
Find the best cessation option for you and talk to everyone that will listen to help you on that journey.
    Good luck all.

Yes... I think, it seems to have burned itself out, thankfully :)
A lot of misunderstanding, and some, what we call here, putting your mouth in motion, before putting your brain in gear. Or, in this case, your fingers.. If someone's meaning is not understood, ask, question, reread, before jumping to a conclusion. We can have differences in opinion, and that is good for discussion, without making it an attack. And, always try to remember how easy it can be to take something written, in the wrong context. I know, first hand, that even an attempt at humor, can bite you in the a... :)
We should all have a very happy, and merry, holiday season..

Burned itself out.... like that final disgusting cigarette 😆
  • John 100 December 12, 2019 | 10:32
Suspicious of who is posting all the positive vaping articles, seven posts by my count and all by people who have made no other posts on site.
  • John 100 December 12, 2019 | 10:49
Update: redid count, eight people with single posts since 10 Dec, 7 claim to have stopped smoking due to vaping from 13 months to 7 years ago. Why would so many people after years of not smoking log onto this site in such a short period to push a particular point of view unless their is a connection between majority of posts.

    Well said nuts. Here here!!
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 12, 2019 | 20:45
    Hi Nuts,
Your post remains the last one! If there was any debate it has stopped.
I had followed the last few days on here with interest
I'm not going to publish my own story of my understanding of how and why this site had so many new members converge all in one day.
Put it down to the wonders of modern technology and connectivity that enabled them with links from FACEBOOK to this site.
The vaping movement are making headway and are quite pleased with thier efforts, especially with making the top ten of news world wide trending yesterday.
Sorry for putting this on your page, lol, You can handle it, if you get comments?
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 12, 2019 | 21:04
sorry its been quiet here since you requested STOP
I should of sent this to someone else or not at all.
    Keep on not smoking
  • Nuts December 12, 2019 | 21:39
Its all good PuffNoMore. I was just sick of the nastiness. I can handle any comments made LOL
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 12, 2019 | 21:57
It stopped when you requested Stop. Although the nastiness had tailered off.
Tuesday was huge for the other movement. I called it a bombardment. It turned out that way. Lol
I'd suggest that This site may have to expect more vapers on this site to help them get off NICOTINE. Could even see another wave from chat rooms around the world again?
    What an interesting world.
    The philosophy to free speech.

One still came back even after it settled and after my posting of considering vaping with caution . He took another shot at poor Pisces yet again.
While in my post i said about researching it was meant for them to research our way of quitting here with the mindset and support, not research vaping.
I knew they were here to pick at the minds of the weakest whether we actually had an encounter or not. New members are vulnerable and need to keep their minds on the support we offer right here and now. They can quit smoking just like thousands that came before them. Who knows how many this site helped. Maybe more than we will ever know if they left and then tried again in the future with some seeds of hopefulness.....
Hopefully we can plant more seeds of hope in those still addicted to nicotine. Even here in Canada the caution flag flies. Teens are taking ill with misuse.
Talk of restrictions. Personally I think they should have it by prescription only for smokers. Change the flavour to just tobacco so that only us smoker could even tolerate it. After all, it should be seen and taken as a medicine, just as the nrt's here are used. Not for long term use.
I doubt that will come to pass, as the tobacco industries now have the major interest in vaping. Even big name brand companies here are wanting e-vape and cigs sanctioned by the government. They see the writing on the wall as people quit smoking, and are hooking a whole new generation in to take our place as they kill us off as i see it.
    It is a tough call
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 13, 2019 | 2:07
yep, the writing is on the wall of change
  • Happiness December 13, 2019 | 2:20
To be clear... the tobacco companies want vape......
We know they don't care about the consumer. They didn't care about us. We were already hooked from the beginning, but they have to compete with each other for our money they add poison like cyanide to give it a better punch or smoother taste. Where does the greed for money end. What will they eventually put in vape liquid in the name of competition. As I said, who knows if down the road they won't switch back to cigarettes...if they are even around.

Anyone quit smoking here or those trying to or considering it, (I think that takes in all of us) you are still giving up nothing and gaining everything. It is only the ones who can achieve freedom from nicotine who will be out of the fray. Wave the money saved in front of noses of those tobacco companies and tell them that they can't have it! Money is all they care about.
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 13, 2019 | 2:35
Yes, point taken, The question is which does one of those guys has retail business interests in promoting that product? lol
Its quite possible not one of them? lol
Could be just one isolated group??? l bent on promoting,, a chat group of people that enjoy vaping,,,,,,,,,,,,Its interesting
  • Happiness December 13, 2019 | 2:45
P.s. Don't forget to add that money kept from the tobacco companies on the Money Tree....
  • Happiness December 13, 2019 | 2:51
Maybe one, or two, nor none, but the others I sincerely brelieve came and took the time to post believing they were promoting good. I am hoping they will stay and learn, and even contribute about how their weaning off of nicotine is going. Information like that is of more interest and help to us here at the moment.
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 13, 2019 | 2:59
    Ha, no money left............
But your quite right As a business (tobacco companies) They will do whatever it takes to sell their products, And these poor fellows are promoting it for them only because they are hooked and buying their products
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 13, 2019 | 3:04
Yes, We were looking at the bigger picture of tabaco companies. But yes, its the consumer and the addicted that needs help
  • Happiness December 13, 2019 | 3:33
Did you note that not one has contributed any advice about weaning from nicotine in vaping? Not one story of their weaning when i have requested information. You would think that as smokers , promoting something that worked for them they would be thrilled to share it in the name of good.
It was pointed out that Vaping is not an addiction because an addiction by definition is taking something that causes harm. When we first started smoking our minds changed to allow our body to accept rather than fight the invasion. If no longer threatened will the mind also change the body , and the way nicotine receptors react. I am no neurologist. Just a question.... are those who start on vaping nicotine addicted? Perhaps that in itself tells us whether or not the body views it as harmful or not. Something to research

    "is vaping nicotine addictive?"
  • Happiness December 13, 2019 | 3:42
Those of course THOSE who are already addicted or even HAVE EVER BEEN ADDICTED WILL REMAIN ADDICTED TO NICOTINE In any form. Even NRT's. We have some addicted to those who have quit smoking but they are addictive, so our bodies still consider it harmful even if no threat as large as smoking cigarettes even remain.
Most understand this, but I recall a couple of members who didn't realize that NRT's contain nicotine. (nicotine replacement therapy) just as vaping with nicotine would be a replacement.
  • Nuts December 13, 2019 | 16:35
I think that the tobacco comanies are going into panic mode. They have priced themselves out of the market with cigarettes. More and more are quitting, so they are trying to get their money from vapers. The young think that its cool and will not harm them. The tobacco companies know this and create great flavors. Our young people need to know that vaping is harmful. People have died from vaping. It is strange that we have had a lot of newbies promoting vaping all at the same time. Are they from the tobacco companies. We dont know, and they wont tell us thats for sure. I want all newbies to know that you dont need to vape. You need to break the hand to mouth action. Cravings dont last long. Set yourselves free. Just say nope.
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 13, 2019 | 19:11
You asked whether those new members were from tobacco companies? Well possibly one of them, but its more likely atlest one of them have a small Illegal family business Manufacturing, Distributing and selling products and want to grow the business? If the Australian Government changes their decision and allow it to be legalized, well, those small business can go into full production$$
Is that a bad thing if it is legalised? I dont know that answer!
You can bet that the "bombardment" as I called it was instigated by some one trying to promote it for monetary gains. The new participants may all be completely innocent of GREED.
They are all more likely just supporters of a movement like LegaliseVapingAustralia,,,Or from any other country.
Its a growing trend and we'll just have to choose not to vape, just as we choose not to smoke
  • Nuts December 13, 2019 | 23:26
In South Australia we have vape shops but they cant sell nicotine only flavours and its illegal to by it online, so i dont know where they get it from. If it does become legal then i think it may become a huge problem for future generations.
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 13, 2019 | 23:36
Yes the flood gates will open and i Dont believe the claim that its 95% safer than cigarette. Those family businesses that own those Tabbaco shops will sell it to you under the counter
They import, and distribute for their own gain , But they get it from Big Tobacco GIANTS , LIKE philip morris, and other giants
  • Nuts December 13, 2019 | 23:52
Its pretty scary. I know a lady who has never smoked a cigarette. But vapes all of the time and she is in her mid 50s. Not a good role model. These tobacco companies have a lot to answer to
  • Happiness December 13, 2019 | 23:56
Again , it could be used as an NRT. My last choice, as I don't even like the nicotine inhaler because of the hand to mouth trigger. However, I could see it, and even support its use for that purpose short term.

Trading one known evil for an unknown entity .... although i will admit i bought an e-cig a few years back, but didn't even enjoy it enough to reload the little vial in it. However, you don't want to enjoy it that much as an Nrt. Just get your fix, Join a quit/support group and taper down.
Ideally, if the Australian government relents, they should ban flavours so that the young will not enjoy it, make it an NRT available only by prescription.
With the prices of cigarettes there, which is mind blowing to me, once vape is legal i can see a rush to it. I imagine the difference in price difference would be phenomenal.

My fear is that people won't use it to quit smoking but continue to use it, and I believe they use more nicotine to that happy dopamine going. Prices will rise. Competitors will add more poisons to make it smoother, or bigger cloud, or faster entry into the bloodstream. They put cyanide and arsenic in cigarettes......
The craze is on. It's a matter of time. I would love to counter attack with warnings to only use as an NRT and to join a quit group to learn how to truly be free of the smoking/vaping nicotine addiction. Hit the companies with declining sales. Hit them where it hurts.
  • Nuts December 14, 2019 | 0:08
If used for a very short time as a NRT may be ok for some. I dont like the idea. Some people stay on them for up to a year and i think that it then becomes an addiction. Vaping is too dangerous for long term use. I think it will become as bad as cigarettes. Nicotine Vaping is still illegal in South Australia. It scares me to think about it becoming legal
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 14, 2019 | 0:19
The Approved Nicotine Inhaler is completely different to vaping as it has no heat going into the lung and almost no moisture. Cant say its totally successful, but it got me through 55 days, lol
  • PuffNoMore, Southern NSW December 14, 2019 | 0:26
Yes, once its all legalized, the flood gates will open and IT WILL BE EXPLOITED. PEOPLE WILL HAVE LUNGS COLLAPSING , I think its already happening

I am not certain what you mean by prescription meds. Are you meaning Champix ? I quit cold turkey and am not really sure what is available OTC and only by prescription in other countries. Is there a reason you ask, or by all means open up the dialogue.

After smoking cigarettes and thousands of chemicals in them for decades, I am pretty much open to anything that will help in smoking cessation. Being temporary measures of course! Even Champix with suicidal tendencies as a side effect is ok as long as you know the risk and have loved ones or close friends aware of a mood change. I would choose it second best after smart turkey (educated cold turkey) because it contains no nicotine which is what we are trying to rid ourselves of. That does not mean i am against Nrt's which do all contain nicotine or even CBD. Vaping is too intense and over the top when an e-cig used properly with a plan would be enough.
  • Pisces24, Central Coast December 16, 2019 | 14:10
Yes I me and that type of method.
I was going to g o to Dr and get that type of QUIT so d but didn't.
Too ashamed to admit I was still smoking.
I'm not interested now but it s funny not many choose that option. Whatever.
I'm on the patches now and am this far on the "journey".
I'm not sure what happens when I re d ice dosage. Am I going to struggle?
I couldn't go cold/smart turkey. I'm struggling with patches. Don't know what's ahead. Bit anxious.
  • Happiness December 20, 2019 | 15:22
Why would you be anxious? A craving is a craving, a mere thought. So little nicotine left to cause any distress but you think nicotine still has power?
That is letting the mindset slip. You know better now. You understand how nicotine altered our minds and made us believe absurd things. Stepping off of the nicotine should be a step that you look forward to....for it is having freedom close enough to touch. Only your mind holds you back...not nicotine.
Remember to embrace the journey . You have already experienced all the benefits you have been promised, why do you doubt now?
Life as a non-smoker is how we were meant to be. It was natural and it will become natural to you again. It is where you truly belong.
