Hi Everyone,

I am now 10 months and 1 week into my new life. I rarely, very rarely even think about my old life. Smoking is simply something I used to do...and have zero interest in ever doing again. For those of you who are finding it a struggle.....keep your thoughts positive and learn to despise those smokes. Make smoking something you no longer want in your life....not something you can’t have. After being a slave to it for 48 years...if I can do certainly can. Life as a non smoker is awesome.

Congratulations Robyn how very true your post is. Wow what an awesome achievement and the rewards are endless. You have been and are an amazing inspiration and great encouragement for others. You stand strong and proud and trust me when I tell you, make sure you keep that guard up at all times. Even though you rarely think of it now, it can sneak up on you in a crisis or stressful situation and it just takes one little puff to get hauled back. Jeepies the cost of cigarettes today is nuts. Far better more enjoyable things to spend our money on.😊😊 That one that k year mark is within your grasp and I'm sticking behind you like glue lol NOPE!!!!

Hi Robyn. Another one who has made smoking history. On this site it is important to blow your own trumpet because that is how you reinforce your belief in yourself by making this very public declaration. Those just starting out must know this is not gloating. It is such a rewarding experience being able to announce one has stuck to ones guns...

Hey Leeann, yes you are sticking to me like glue....I couldn’t be happier about I know 2hat you mean about not letting my guard is something I am always alert to. I don’t believe we are any different to say an smoke and we are right back in the trap just as they are with one drink. Stress has always been a trigger for I know that I need to manage it differently now. But I can’t wait to post 365 days.....never thought I could do this....goes to show...we are all stronger than we think we are. Stay strong and proud friend x

Thanks Lia, no I hope it does not come across as gloating........I have had more quit attempts than hot dinners in my life so I certainly have nothing to gloat But I think we all have the right to be proud of our journey.....proud of the resolve that it takes to beat this demon. It doesn’t matter if you have only quit today, a few days ago or a few should be proud that you have taken control back, and we all started with the first hour. Stand proud and believe in your strength.....because it is definitely in everyone of us.

Hi Nuts, yes I have gained about 5kg over the 10 months that I have been quit......but because I walk a lot and I try to eat healthy has stayed at that for a couple of months now. I think the key is to get active so that you don’t focus on food.....I walk twice a day....I am out in the garden most days too. Don’t focus too much on the weights gain unless it is a real problem for you...I do think it evens out as time goes by. Stay strong and focused got this.

Congratulations Robyn. Its no surprise that you are still going strong. Anyone who thinks as positive and is as determined as yourself will succeed. Anyone can find the truth, the motivation and path to freedom. Great story, a great job and always the best advice!

Thanks Happiness, you are going really well too. We are all capable of succeeding.......we just have to want to badly enough. I was sick of quitting and failing......positive mindset and taking it step by step is the key, then you get strong enough to look further ahead.
