Quitting once

Posted in Hints and tips 31 Dec 2018

Hi All

Some may feel that they will always miss smoking, life will be miserable without a smoke and this can hold some people back from succeeding in their quit journey. They are subconsciously railroading their quit so that their lifestyle doesn’t change. I know because I have done it myself. Half of you wants to quit and the other half is scared of a new and different lifestyle.

I smoked for 48 years so my habit was well ingrained. I have been smoke free for nearly 8 months.....I do not miss anything about smoking. My life has improved in every way possible. All the things that scared me about letting go are the very things that now enrich my life.

Please do not be afraid of change because change can be the most positive event in your life. It opens your mind and allows you to grow. There is nothing to fear.....give yourself and your loved ones the opportunity to see your strength.

Well said Robn. Red will appreciate the title i'm sure. I do hope he and some of your other quit buds will post their piece. Let's hope that we can allay the fear and misconceptions about embracing a smoke free life. It has been possible for us and many, many more. We did it. Anyone can.

Great advice as always Robn. You nailed it again. The fear of succeeding this mission is self defeating. Yes weewilliam there is life after the death of the cigarette! It is liberating and instills your life with positivity and self confidence. Those cravings may come back to haunt you from time to time as they do to some, but they will never have the power to trick you into resuming such a vile habit after being a happy non-smoker :)

Thank for your posts robin they are a great help. there are so many good things about being a non smoker, it is hard to put into words. The best thing is the pride that comes with the realization that you are a non smoker. You then know that if you can do this you can do anything . we are free
