The day I quit

Posted in Quit experiences 09 Sep 2018

My name is Teresa, I’m 59 and will beat this. I woke up on the 28/7/18, I thought I’ve got 4 ciggies in my packet I’m going to stop today. Well after 45 years of smoking, I’m still going 43 days’s tuff, I keep reminding myself everyday you can do this, some days are ok others I struggle. But I’m damn determined to do this, I love being able to answer no when someone asks “do you smoke”. I’d love to chat to others that are on their journey and share support and encouragement.

Hi, you are doing really well. I am at 124 days after 48 years of very similar to you. Not only can you do will kick this habit to the kerb once and for all. There was nothing good about smoking......we fooled ourselves for so long and where did it get us..nowhere! we Are addicts and will be for life but as long as we understand that we have the power in our hands. No one can make us light up, that remains our choice....and we choose to be smoke free.....what a wonderful life it is! Stay strong and focused.

Thanks Robn, good on you, 148 days gives me encouragement thanks for that, you’re right it’s our choice if we light up again.... I just can’t I can no longer afford or justify spending over $40 a day, what for to just smoke I think of all the wonderful things I can be doing with that money not to mention the health benefits.
