I also wanted to add one more thing. Once you quit smoking, you’ll be amazed at your lung capacity. When I was a smoker, I would be out of breath from walking one or two city blocks - absolutely exhausted, huffing, puffing, gasping for air. Now, I power walk everywhere with my dog and am never out of breath. Maybe tired because I have lupus but never out of breath. It - Is - Wonderful!

I like your style. It is amazing isn't it. Amazing that you could be addicted to something so stupid and amazing how you feel when you give up and life goes on and it gets better with each breath! Well done to you.

    Hi Dollygan,

Before I quit smoking, I would be out of breath if I walked one city block. In less than a month, i was scaling a mile or more without being out of breath. After that, it was just a matter of conditioning my lungs and heart. Please know that even if you already have a lung disease, quitting smoking will help some because you won’t be aggravating it more. Also, the docs might actually be able to do more or you if youu aren’t aggravating it. So, please, if you aren’t gong to quit because you are already sick, don’t let that stop you. I already had Lupus when I quit. I didn’t know that I had Lupus, but I was soon diagnosed. Had I gone back to smoking, my condition would be way worse than it already is. WAY WORSE.
