3 months done

Posted in Quit experiences 07 Aug 2018

3 months ago I started my has been the best thing I could do for myself. I have learnt a lot about myself in this past 3 months. I am tougher and more resilient than I thought. I really never thought I could do this or that I would ever really want to...that is how enslaved I was to smoking. But now I am amazed at how just a different mindset has set me free of it all. I know that I will never smoke again.....WHY...because it no longer defines me. I am now my own person and happier and healthier than ever. Keep going on your journey and know in your heart and mind that you can do it, believe in yourself.

Cangrats Robn, excellent accomplishment. Stay strong and be proud of what you are doing because quitting smoking is one of the most difficult things and takes a lot of self control.

    Thanks safe2017
Thanks for your support...hope all is going well on your journey too. Wish I could give everyone on here that light bulb moment that turned things around for me......that moment when you get the right mindset to kick smoking out of your life and be really happy you did.

Hi Robn. Always good to hear from someone like you who has truly seen the light . To quote you : "Having that light bulb moment that turned things around." How good is it to make that decision for oneself as opposed hoping something other than will power would rescue one from making really bad decisions. Enjoy the ride and the freedom.

Go Robn ! :) No reason to look back now :)
I knew you had it, and yes, it is a shame we can't find a way to share that light bulb moment, that makes it so much easier :)

It’s almost end of my third month too, I feel young inside and out. Feels so so good. I have lost my cravings for cigarettes. Now I cannot even breathe when I smell cigarette smoke.

Keep it up Robn, I also never thought in my wildest dreams that I can quit. Whenever a friend offers a cigarette I tell them that I have my own health battles and if I are to lie down with a massive stroke tomorrow, there will be no one to help.

Keep telling yourself that you quit for your own good, not for someone else!

Robn wow well done! I too thought I was a hopeless case and could not see myself giving up then I had that 'light bulb' moment. 'I want my life back' I have early stage emphysemia and struggle with Asthma. I want to travel and you sort of need to have good lungs to travel or to do anything for that matter. The struggles were getting me down. So so happy I woke up one day and that was it! I have been smoke free since November last year. I have saved $5000 so far. Like you, I will never ever smoke again! You know in your heart don't you. Good for you!
