LOOKING AT MY FRIENDS BATTLING TO BREATH

Today I am on day 75 smoke free. When the urge to smoke used to hit me, I think of a friend who battles to breath every time she has to walk up the stairs or when she rushes around out of breath... since I quit slowly I can feel the difference with mouth freshness, body odour, no mucus build up, no nasal congestion and so many other smaller things that we take for granted as smokers. It sure does feel good to be smoke free.

Dear Red-67 thank you kindly for your comments and well wishes. It is people like you that just makes this world a better place, thank you for your support. Yes I surely feel like I got this, but there are times when amongst friends I feel like the outsider now opposed to before. Like for instance they will all chill on the balcony coz they are smoking and for me it is still difficult to be mingling while they smoke around me... having said that I am now looking to reach my 100 days... May I ask how long you quit?

Hi Red-67 - yep the time difference is a thing, I am in South Africa. Thank you for sharing and wow you have just had you 2nd anniversary, I am just so chaffed for you. I didn't have the power to do it cold turkey, you are strong. I to chose to quit as I didn't want to do it anymore, the smell of it though right now doesn't go down to well with me, it has this stale smell (if you know what I mean) that is so horrid. I am glad I don't smoke and I just cannot wait for my day 100 on 8 June 2018, a great birthday gift to myself. Yes, I do read past stories of other and all their battles and tribulations ... I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day.

15 months wow... that is just wow!!! Hey I too will get there in time, one day at a time. I fully agree, we are smoke free and it feels just awesome... have a lovely day / night dear friend, take care. I am at work now, it is 8:50 am here in Durban.
