I believe it was Paul McCartney who said oxygen is the greatest drug and he is right. Almost 25 months off nicotine now and it is a glorious sunny day here in Kent England. The fresh cold air is luxurious. I will never forget the punishment I used to inflict on myself when , on similar past days , I would breath the same air in the mornings then contaminate my body and brain with vile cigarette poisons. Thanks icanquit and all my quit buddies.

Hi Dobbin........yes oxygen is the best as you say and also the sense of smell and taste that develops from quitting is also unreal.Healthwise it is betrer with no weazing also. Keep up the good work mate. Cheers.

I definirely dont miss the wheezing and the smokers cough. With Lupus, I now get some lung inflammation and every once in a while will give a quick cough during a meeting. Because I cough so rarely now, I notice it right away. Smokers don’t even realize they have this cough. I’m so glad that I dont have to do that anymore.

We have a saying in England " it wasn't the cough that carried him off it was the coffin they carried him off in "
