Starting the process again

Posted in Reasons to quit 14 Sep 2017

So now I must quit. From tomorrow I will no longer be a smoker. My DD who is nine is having tremendous anxiety around me smoking and the risk of death. She has been learning about the effects of smoking at school and now is worried sick.

I have tried quitting multiple times and never succeeded. Champix, vapes, cold turkey, The Book, patches. This time I am using patches and spray and pure determination. As a mother, I cannot and will not deliberately harm my child, if I continue to smoke that is exactly what I will be doing.

I don't need luck, I need determination.

Hi, you just need to want to. If you really want to quit, you will. The problem is that a lot of smokers feel like they are going without, giving up a friend that has always been there. When you stop thinking that way, you are then thinking like a non smoker and the journey becomes so much easier. So keep telling yourself that you are not missing out on anything, because you do not want to smoke ever again. Why would you pay huge amounts of money to poison yourself on a daily basis, crazy.
Stay strong and focus on getting through one day at a time....keep busy when cravings hit. You can do it,

Robin is absolutely right.. Everything you need to quit, is right between your ears. You just have to WANT it.. Make a smoke something you do NOT WANT. Sure, you may feel like crap for a time, but it will pass, just like the flu, or a bad cold.. And, you will feel so good about yourself, when you beat them :)
