Hi everyone, checking in once more. Will be 8 weeks tomorrow. Rather a very stressful week if i can put it that way. Car broke down 15ks from my home, needed towing. Then to top it off a family member needed to be hospitalised. However not serious thank goodness. The point is when you are subjected to this type of consistent stress it really puts the test on you when you have been a smoker. Howev...

Well, 6 weeks down and moving towards 7. Walking 3 times per week for at least half hour really helps when you quitting. I find i get little puffed out but much more stamina than when i smoked. The walk includes a 250mtres fair incline which makes you work a touch harder, but it is all for the best. What i find good too is talking to non smoker friends as the encouragement and enlightment that i...

Approaching 6 weeks and happy with myself. Naturally nrt helps with cravings , however i find the habit hard to break. Now starting to cough more often as i presume the cleansing begins. Sometimes coughing is so intense it is actually painful in chest. What i have found to be helpful in case someone else going through the coughing stage is the fillowing...place a teaspoon full of salt into a glas...

After 5 weeks not only my family are surprised , but most of all myself that so far there has been no turning back. Not much problems with cravings and have been around smokers and not received any demanding urges. However i refrain from these situations having regard to passive smoking. My problem i find is the habit because i still have the same daily routine where and when i smoked although i...

26 days today and going great guns. Not much cravens either and do not last long in any case. When i see someone smoking i do not envy or condemn the individual , my thoughts are that one day he or she will realise what cigarettes do after years of smoking .....whether 5 or 30 a day....the same as i have now realised. I thought it was fun at the time i was 16...but believe me ...not fun after 50...

24 days without the devils. Feeling much better especially walking up hills. Cravens disappearing ...only problem is the hard formed habit. Need to do the things i have always done without cigarette in hand. When you have smoked for years it is then you realise the damage caused. We can live without smoking.....come on people keep fighting... in time we will win and feel proud of our achievement....

I have had 50yrs smoking and never tried quitting but after tests the copd alarm bells were ringing and it is not fun to smoke now. Starting to feel some changes for the better already and walking for half hr 3 times per week helps. Lets kee...
