My 1st day without a cigarette and I had all the usual fears leading up to this. But I managed ok and haven't really missed it tonight. I'm not having any side effects from Champix so that is a plus....My first attempt was with the patches and I stopped for 3 months. Fingers crossed I can quit for good this time!
I stopped smoking in March this year only to crack 3 months later. I was using the patches and also reading Allan Carrs book. I am now wanting to quit again but don't know if I can do it without the patches. I'd be interested to hear of peoples' experience using Champix; I've heard about the nausea and bad dreams.
I'm on my last packet now and going to the Dr tomorrow to get some Champix. Experi...
I had given up for about 3 months using the patches. I was going so well.... now I am back smoking about 10-15 a day. I have started reading Allen Carrs' book again and I'm getting to the point that I want to stop again. No patches etc this time either. I am genuinely NOT enjoying smoking and have found my headaches are back. The minute I finish the book I will be having my last smoke and p...
I have been going really well until last week. I have had a stumble on my journey and have had about 30 smokes since last Friday. One of my daughters came to visit and she has taken up smoking again; she lit one up and I just had to have that one puff!!
I'm not blaming my daughter, I am angry and ashamed with myself!! I should have been stronger, but I only have 3 left and not enough money for a...
I'm guilty and ashamed of my weakness. 72 days smoke free and today I had about 6 puffs, which tasted horrible. Today is the 2nd anniversary of my daughters passing and up until today I have been strong. I guess I'm only human but I have to be stronger!
It's been a while since I last posted here. I'm 56 days smoke free and today started on the lowest dose of the patches. I have had the usual cravings, especially when I'm down in the dumps but so far have managed to ignore them. Have had a huge headache today but I don't know if it related to the reduction of the patch.
I have been keeping myself busy, busy, busy trying to help animal rescue gro...
I had a clean out of my wardrobe and sorted what to keep and what to give to the Salvos. I washed and ironed everything to get rid of the smoke smell and now I'm told that washing the clothes doesn't get rid of the smell.
Anyone have any input on this?
Last night and today I've had the strong urge to have a smoke and I don't know why. I got to the point where I wasn't even thinking about cigarrettes but last night I was so close to getting in the car and going to buy some. Today is not much better, especially when I'm stuffing myself with chocolate!!
I've been trying to keep myself busy but there is only so much I can do because of medical con...
It's been a few days since I have checked in. I'm now 29 days and still smoke free. I hope everyone on this journey is not doing it too tough!! Good luck to everyone!
For some reason this afternoon, my little dog chased my cat and I lost the plot. Pooe little buggar got an earful from me and if there had been any cigarettes aroiund I know I would have had one. Luckily I had no money either so I couldn't go and buy any!
I don't know what set it off but I just snapped and let lose for about 15 mins!! I am now sucking on an empty iinhaler lol and my dog still lo...
I'm about to go down a grade with the patches and was wondering if it affected anyone? Do you feel like smoking again with the lower dose and does it get harder?
I'm feeling great and can't believe I have made it this far!! Whooo Hooo...I'm a non smoker and proud of it!!
Have a great Easter everyone!!
Has anyone else got 2 sundays 1.4.12 on their journey?
Day 13 and so I have rewarded myself, sort of. I was putting on weight before I started this journey and my clothes were really tight, so today I bought a pair of Jeans and 3/4 jeans. A size bigger and room to move and grow, but who cares....I'm a non smoker!!! yeahhhh!! Feeling good!
Hugs to all xxx
Wow, I'm glad that today is almost over. For some reason the cravings have been bad and I've been sucking on the inhaler all day. I've been a bit bitchy and cranky today too, just ask my dogs lol!!
I really didn't think I would make it this far but thanks to the support from everyone here, I am on my way to being a non smoker. I have to say I'm pretty chuffed about it and determined to follow th...
I've been smoke free for 9 days except for a couple of puffs I had last week, but it seems longer than that. I'm finding it is getting easier and I don't think of them all the time now.
Can anyone answer this for me?
Is it cheating if I was to use a Nicorette Inhaler when I get a really bad urge?
I have been goping really good at coping with the cravings, which really haven't been that bad with the help of the patches. Today though, I was cleaning my car and found a cigarette under the seat. I tried, I really did but it was so tempting. I had about 3 puffs and then threw it away. i had a horrible head spin and felt sick in the stomach. I am really disappointed in myself for doing this, I ...
So far so good although at this stage I'm feeling like one now. Did anyone have any trouble with the patch? Ii only had it on a few hours and it started to come off; I ended up putting another clear dressing over it!!
I bought Allen Carrs' book off Ebay today and hopefull will have it next week.
I thought I was doing really good, especially since I haven't started the patches yet. A friend I havn't spoken too for so long rang....I didn't even think; I picked up my smokes while I was on the phone for over an hour and I am so MAD with myself!! I didn't even enjoy it!!
I have cut back again because I start my patches on Friday. I so much want to stop this filthy habit but I guess I have to...
I had a really bad night last night. One of my dogs kept me up nearly all night and I didn't really get to sleep until 4:45 this morning. I was stressed out and tired and of course the smokes were handy.
I'm feeling quite ashamed with myself but have been trying extra hard today as my quit date is Friday. I have had 2 cigarettes today!
That I am doing so well and I haven't got the patches yet. Today I have had 2 cigarettes; willpower kept me from having anymore plus getting stuck into the garden again.
I found a few times today that when I was bored I thought of the smokes. To try and beat the temptation I fiddled around in the garden for a while, had a drink and more or less pottered around.
I have just downloaded a app for an iphone. It is Allen Carr and help for quitting smoking. I haven't tried it out as yet; I will let you know how it goes. The app was $2.99!
So far today at 5.26pm I have had 7 smokes....I'm so proud of myself!!
I'm a 25-30 day smoker and have been for over 20years. I have only tried once before to quit and that was with Champix; but that made me really ill, so I stopped that and started smoking again.
I woke up the other day coughing my g**ts up and still couldn't wait to get a smoke in my mouth!! Later that day I was still coughing and realised that I wasn't enjoying the smokes anymore.....it was just...
