Happy new smokeless year everyone! I have been going to the gym for the past two week and this has been a great help in my 12 day quit
Happy New Year to all of you. I am proud of each and everyone of you. You are all amazing. Stay safe. 🎉🎈😚🥂
Thought id come back and share a story for Christmas.
I gave up smoking on November 21 , 2012. I had major surgery and for it to be successful i had to stop smoking and I did.
37 years of lung busting finished . What a battle but worth every bit of it.
Started exercising , watching my diet , became single, met a new partner. go to shows and concerts regularly . 2 good holidays ev...
It’s been 1,3001 day without cigarettes. It’s the longest journey I ever quit smoking and I never ever look back.
Finally I am into quadruple territory. Wishing it happened earlier. With the money I saved we got a nice computer that my better half appropriated, a nice Toyota Camry and a van for my daughter. Couldn’t have done it without quitting. I am a quitter and proud. Stay smoke free and enjoy being smokeless. Cheers.
A nice early Xmas present. 200 days nicotine free!! :-) $5,803 saved.
I still have the odd moment or two every now and then when I have a mental craving, but it quickly passes. I can be next to someone smoking and not feel like I'll give in and ask for one.
Reading back over my early posts the thing that strikes me is the fear.
Fear about quiting.
Fear of cravings
Fear of the experience.
I would just like to wish everyone on this site a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. thank you all for your support . to the new non smokers I say keep going it gets better and better ,the change in your life is awesome CHEERS TO ALL.
Howdy all, Wishing everyone happy holidays and all the best in the new smoke free year! Checking in at 999 days of being smoke free. I attribute 30-40% of my successful quit to this site and getting support from everyone by reading everyone’s stories. Thank you all who contributed. The other 30% came from NOPE mantra - not one puff ever. The rest of my determination came by way of cigarettes beco...
Just popping in to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a smoke fee new year.
While I’m still smoke free for 109 days I’ve just gotten over pneumonia.
I went to the doctor and got some antibiotics and a puffer.
It was scary I was very much short of breathe.
But feel 100 percent now and not using the puffer as much
Smoking is not worth it.
I love to eat. I have been eating and making up for not really having many cravings while I was smoking. It is glorious, and I even savor the meals. I think I taste the food and drinks better. Plus, chocolate drinks just feel good to the bone.
I'm also getting back into doing some of the things that I used to be into before I really started to become a smoker.
And I think as a thing I am ...
I was hoping to be able to get some feedback on how some of you have dealt with quitting. I went cold turkey and I haven’t had a cigarette in 11 days. I just wanted to see what side effects have been experienced by others. Surprisingly my cravings have not been that bad but I feel my anxiety has been through the roof. I don’t feel motivated to go out and socialise and I get nauseous and dizzy fro...
45 days. positive affirmation "I dont smoke". its addiction but its mind over matter too. give yourself permission to change youre mind. your mind is stronger than the addiction.
Do I miss smoking? There are certainly times when I wish I could smoke without the side effects that I am well aware of. The cravings do appar from time to time but I am in control of my cravings. I also know not to be complacent.
The one side effect of quitting that I was not thrilled about was my weight gain. That too has become a non issue as I have started losing the lbs. At 10lbs now and...
Day 18 today. No NRT gum today and feeling fine. I've been chewing regular gum on and off since breakfast and haven't felt any need for the NRT gum. Really trying to rid my body of all nicotine.
Feeling more positive and energized today.
Also started reading Allen Carr's book.
Have a great day people!
Just popping in to say hi and to celebrate 200+ day's. I'm still going strong in my own mind, but the battle is real. I've started to exercise, but let's say smoking has pushed my health back tremendously . I have only myself to blame for abusing my body for 30 years with smoking, so i have come to reality that regaining what I have destroyed, will need time to recover. But just like quitting it...
11 Months tomorrow and I will at least give myself a chance to acknowledge something I don't like doing this because I don't wanna get to confident I know the road ahead is long I just ask God to continue to guide my steps any word of encouragement won't hurt
I have a problem of severe anxiety about my heart and feel any day can have a heart attack/ cardiac arrest. I smoked 3-7 cigarettes a day.
Its been 5 days since I have quit now and whenever I feel like smoking, I check my heart rate and if it is above 90 I feel concerned and my mind tells in if I smoke, it will go above 100 leading to severe risk to my heart
If is less that 90 then...
Over 6.5 years ago I quit inhaling combustible tobacco. I’d tried everything prior. Cold turkey, Patches, Gum, Medication, Hypnotherapy... you name it I’d done it. A friend introduced me to vaping and the minute I tried it, I knew this would work for me. I purchased a unit and liquid and from the moment it arrived I have not touched a cigarette since. Over the next year I weened myself down from ...
I have been a heavy 30+ a day smoker for near 17 years. I am now, for the first time, 42 days ciggarette free thanks to vaping. Already i have noticed a difference in my health. My skin, eyes, gums, less phlegm, easier breathing and less snoring. I'm less irratable and less lethargic. Luckily I have the options for flavoured E juice because I think having tobacco flavoured for me personally would...
I started smoking at 14 and after 25 years smoking my lungs were wrecked. I tried cold turkey, gums, sprays, patches, even hypnosis.
Nothing worked for longer than a couple of weeks.
The patched gave me a horrible rash and the gums made me feel like I was going to throw up. I have no idea what was in the sprays but it burnt.
5 years ago I found out about vaping.
In the space of a week I ...
My name is Andrew.
I have 4 children and smoked over a packet a day for 32 years
I tried every way to quit including Champix, patches and sprays.
The only thing that has stopped me smoking for 18 mths now is Vaping. The Royal College of Physicians in the UK 100% endorses vaping and it is now in 2 UK hospitals to assist patients who wish to quick.
The easiest, safest and best thing I have don...
I just wondered how much money we could put on the Money Tree by Dec. 25.
I will bet it will blow our minds. I am sure it was put to better use than blowing smoke.
Any money saved while on this site this year counts! I will publish the total collection before the New Year.
It's been nearly 8weeks since I gave up smoking and I am doing great. My doctor is very pleased with me . And now I just look the other way when I can smell someone is smoking around me. So now I know I have stop completely and the support I get from people and I can quit . Gary
Hello , Im almost at 5 weeks, of not smoking a cigarette and 96 hours of no nicotine gum. I feel ok. Not much energy , not really feeling like doing anything, moody and very pensive but not as anxious today . I've lost 14lbs as the change, worry and not really wanting to "stuff" myself as that is when I have the worst craving. I spoke to a hypnotist yesterday. She said I took u smoking as a copin...
I haven't had nicotine gum in exactly 73 hrs . yesterday was a good day. today i woke up with a headache . I just eat lunch hoping it will help . I'm also going to try meditation music .. any tips would greatly be appreciated...
Hi everyone, hope all is well with you all. Just a note to touch base. I’m 127 days smoke free and feel amazing also have no intention of ever going back. I still crave but easily deterred. I’ve had a family holiday and saving for the next already. I spent $200 yesterday on baby clothes for my granddaughter who will be here in 10 weeks around about lol. I could not have done all this if I was sti...
A big thanks to penelopejane, Happiness, softly40 and SteveJ. It is always great to hear from my fellow ex smokers. May your Journeys be filled with love and health and happiness. In case I don't call in during the holidays, I would like to wish everyone the best for the holidays. Stay safe.
I haven't posted since my 3 week mark and now I'm around 790 days since my official quit date.
I used a product that unfortunately is no longer available but I have to say it was just a catalyst to quitting that I was done with after week 3. From then on staying smoke free was about being able to breath clearly in the morning. Kiss my wife without chewing gum first. Not smelling like an asht...
Today makes 100 days of me being nicotine free.
