Hello fellow quitters, I meant to come back before Christmas to say hello, but anyway here I am wishing you all a safe and happy New Year. I am happy to say I am still quit free after 3years, thanks Shamrock we were going through this at the same time, and I am glad you are still on the quit road. Most definitely my best tip was and still is saying NOPE (not one puff ever) either mentally or i...

    A close shave

I felt I had to post today because today I had a super strong craving, wanting to go get some smokes and smoke the whole packet. I feel if I can’t be honest about smoking here it’s not going to help me or others. Anyway, certain things trigger me and awareness about these helps a lot. Also I’m going to write down on a card why I decided to stop and study it when I crave. It might take me a good...

    Easy Peasy

My cravings have now gone away at least for the past few days and today. Really there’s no need to whinge at all, it is a real blessing to be able to never smoke again. I’m going into the new year free as a bird. No more coughing and not being able to walk up hills, no more offensive stench of cigarettes, no more of it costing me the price of a house ( in the end). It’s all so worthwhile to qu...

    Daily Check in

Morning all, Today is my day 1, again. Although this time I’m feeling a lot more content and ready than the times in the past. I have made a plan with steps which I can follow, including to more regularly check in on this forum and update how I’m feeling/where I am at on my journey. I don’t have social media, but my boredom makes me check my emails 1000 times a day haha, boredom I’ve realised...

    Out of the loop

I have actually lost track of how long I have now been quit but I think I have just passed exactly 3 months. It doesn’t sound like that much but for me it feels like a great achievement. I will now be seeing in the new year free of cigarettes and nicotine! It’s been very much worth all the trouble. I’m now focused on my new life as that’s what it’s like.

So it has been a while since I have contributed to this group. I celebrated 4 years smoke free on 1st December. Now 1463 days smoke free and a saving of, get this: $28,523 and it is probably more than that because I bet smokes have gone up in the last 4 years! My journey has been rewarding in that I can breathe so much easier! I am not constantly looking for somewhere to hide so I can have a ...

Howdy everyone, Yesterday was a nice round number of 1700 smoke free days. As the time marches on, smoking has become a distant memory but each day I am truly thankful for my freedom. To those who are still struggling, my only advice is to keep practicing NOPE - Not One Puff Ever. It works and it's real. Stay strong and you'll succeed. Cheers

    Getting better

Going into week 10 soon. It seems to get just that little bit easier each week that I say a big NO to cigarettes. I’ve had plenty of times when I have had to talk myself through things. Don’t worry I still want a smoke at times and especially now it’s coming up to the festive season. But why not reword all of that and say that This year I will celebrate not smoking anymore. I can still party w...
