I’ve just completed 6 weeks tonight of no nicotine. I had a slip a few weeks in of one. It was gone very quickly but left me feeling like I would fail again. Been using nicotine patches and munching on gums from last week. Gradually decreasing the numbers of cigarettes each day has been really helpful for me to deal with withdrawal symptoms until yesterday. Gave a try to Nicorette quick mist, little harsh on throat but it worked well during strong urges and cravings.
Didn't smoke any today and will be doing same for tomorrow and coming days.
Two weeks down and a couple of days into week 3. I am still so grumpy sometimes! Anyone care to share around when this part subsides? I know I definitely don't want to smoke but I am being really unpleasant to be around at times and feel like I can't control my emotions as well as I typically can. Help!
I don't have a hint or a tip. I had gone seven months without a cigarette. I had had cravings but I had always gotten over them. This time in October almost 7 months to the day I had quit I decided to give in. I don't even know what made me give in. I kind of knew for days I was going to.
I have reached week 2 I have all the help as in patches and inhaler, but it's not easy. My tip is to be stronger than the urge!! The urge is hard but keep busy as possible either doing things you love or hate, I have done a lot of housework haha.

i’m 30 days clean. i slipped up after a stressful day but in saying that…i didn’t finish the cigarette. ive been doing other things to help with temptation. exercising and doing other productive things. since lockdown ended in nsw i’ve been going out more with friends and that has helped to keep me occupied
On day 7 today. Urge to smoke is less than this time last week when I caved after 5 days. The weekend is a struggle as I feel like a treat and time to relax. Smoking is a lie and is not a treat or helpful with relaxation but constantly robs us of peace. Must keep this in the front of my mind going into the weekend.

I don’t think I can do this. Day 4, utterly miserable. I know a cigarette will make me feel better so why not just have one? I gave up for 14 years and started 3 years ago ( it was like I never stopped). It’s so disheartening. I just feel like I’ll never be able to do it. Just kinda wanted to share a tiny update. I switched to the 7 mg patch on Sunday. So far, the decrease in nicotine hasnt bothered me at all. I am able to take the patch off at 5:00 P.M. and I don't put another one on until 6:30 A.M. Miss it less and less. Doing well. Thanking God daily.

Dont give up
So I geared myself up to face my biggest temptation hurdle yesterday. I was nervous to see my smoker child and sit down for our chat, as this was always my ‘chain smoking’ relaxation time.
Needn’t have worried as I was totally fine and when offered a cig was very comfortable to say out aloud “No thanks I don’t smoke”
Three very empowering words I DONT SMOKE. 💪
So far so good...had some bad days but managed to overcome them...been now 8 months smoke free ...God is willing so am I.
I’ve reached magic day 5!
Spending time on this community helps and also the changes I made after talking to Quitline. My mood hasn’t dropped as low as before and I’m feeling more hopeful and confident that I can do this :)
I love the magnetic words from the Quitline pack and either make a sentence or choose a single word every morning, it reminds me of a positive journey.
I am proud to say I have reached day 12 and have not slipped once, not that I haven't thought about it though! Day 7, 8 and 9 were particularly hard and I really needed to stay focused on my quit. Champix. Nothing else works for me. Will power certainly didn't work for me. In my expereince and opinion champix will work when it works, no timeframe. Good morning all. So I have made it to day 4 cold turkey 😊 I know I am only early stages into my quit but I feel this is going to be my final one. It has not been an easy few days but I can already start to feel the health benifets from quitting.
I have found exercising each day and avoiding sugary foods has helped lift my mood. Looking forward to reaching the 1 week milestone.
Day 3. My mood dropped dangerously low late yesterday. I know from experience that it might happen and I distracted. It helped the craving, but my mood is low and I’m scared of the consequences. That stresses me and gives me more cravings.
I feel like I’ll start smoking again anyway and what’s the point? I can’t visualise myself being a non smoker.

Hello QuitFam... Me? I have not been this far, YIPPEE!! I am just reporting that after 4 weeks, I am beginning to see benefits of not smoking:
==> I HAVE MORE TIME: I went outside to my "smoking spot", stood (or sat) there for an average of 5 minutes per cigarette, add another minute for the "travel time" to and from my smoking spot"; that's 6 minutes. I was a one pack (20 ciggs) a day smoker....

I'm a few days off the 'One Month' milestone.
