One of the most random amazing ways I've used to help quit is a sort of hypnotic, but Ural beat music I found on YouTube - here is the link: https://youtu.be/UrhlyWo0zto there are many like this if you go 'quit smoking music' into YouTube. I can say it does do wonders.
So I’m 4 days in. My mental health is completely all over the place.
I’m craving a smoke right now!! But I don’t want to stuff up the hard work I’ve done so far.
Would someone be able to give me some advice on dealing with the withdrawals for someone whom suffers from mental health illnesses?
I’m worried I’m going to relapsed and I want to prevent that as much as I can!!
Thank you ...
See yourself as the non smokers you want to be, your self satisfaction, freedom from the cravings first thing every morning, your family's pride, no more sly sneaky smokes
I have always found that denying yourself the caffeine and the coffee and all the rest is a sure shot to it -- the quitting of cigarettes. I needed a redo of the whole thing. It's alright. But the days of which I stayed smokefree are still that.

So I think I had a personal breakthrough when it comes to managing those disgusting cravings that used to pop up every now and then. I used to use sheer will to fight it off, by telling my self "I can't smoke a cigarette. I shouldn't smoke. I wont smoke." All the while I subconsciously thought about the words "smoke" and "cigarette."
Thinking that way only made things worse. Every time I told ...

2 days with 0 smokes. Wearing a hair band on my wrist every time I think about a cigarette, I snap the band on my wrist and it diverts my thoughts. Also breathing in and exhaling deeply.
Its hard to gather my thoughts to literately help someone who needs advice. Everyone seems to be moving in a positive direction. some have moved into no-smoking territory, stay strong Gemma & Jess. Swap & Chapter have things sorted and keep your great work up please. We've come to realise that we all have to work along-side others who smoke in front of us sometimes and we dont worry or want what ...

Hello everyone :)
Quitting with the smoking addiction was the start of a new chapter in my life, which lead me to a much better path. This has inspired me to help others achieve this, because I want everyone to able to live a heathy lifestyle.

today i received my package from the government to help my journey on quitting smoking. the package has humbled me, because i only got books on how to stop smoking and some silly little magnets.
i didn't even get a vape or anything, scomo continues to disappoint me.
Today marks a big day for me. I am 3 months no smoking. Feeling very good about that.
I also have started my treatment and I am able to g go home Thursday and move on from this chapter in my book.
I am proud not to be smoking at this time as I'm sure it would not be helping me with treatment and my health. Skin looking better
Breathing alot better aswell.

(12) Today was easy!
Listen to what I am saying: “Going the entire day without smoking was easier than anything else I did today.” Now consider this . . . I am a 73 year-old man who smoked anywhere from a pack to three packs of cigarettes a day for 53 years of his life. I also happen to have celebrated 8 years of being nicotine free on July 12, 2020. If anyone had told me on July 11, 2012 that I...

"I'm gonna smoke just one cigarette to beat the cravings and no more". If you do this, you're gonna want another cigarette 10 minutes after the first one. Don't do it, it's ridiculous and pointless.
EDIT: I didn't do it, this was my coping mechanism
When I wanted to stop my 60 full strength a day habit I thought about what might happen if I was marooned on an island, my thoughts would be food and water .
I don't believe that under these circumstances the need for a cigarette would come into anyone's mind.
So I considered that I had put myself on an island and a cigarette was not an option, here I am 22 years later, never since have I had o...
Stay positive. Always believe something wonderful is about to happen. Believe in yourself and stay positive. It will make staying smoke free so much easier.
Can anyone tell me the benefits of eating carrots when quitting smoking please
I need help
Associate yourself to new place where your old habit reminds you, keep walking in new places/garden/mountains and breathe (deep breathe) after 1 month and observe what you missed when your able to breathe easily and deeply... :-)
Go for long walks, listen to music, multi vitamins, lots of water, exercise, get minties
Each time you smoke, you are:-
1. Literally burning a part of your hard earned money
2. Feeding dangerous chemicals to your body
3. Going away from lofe with each puff
4. increasing the risk of unhealthy death
i believe none of the above is warranted in a sane person's life
I quit 2 days ago with a patch. This isn’t the first time I have quit. My problem is staying quit. My past quits have been cold turkey, gum or patches. I know with me it is totally more of a mental addiction. I’ve joined this forum for support from other quitters and maybe helpful tips you can give and to give support to future quitters.
I was a smoker for 36 years it was starting to affect my health as I'm lung infections and not being able to breathe etc...I gave up 6 weeks ago and can't believe I don't even think about smokes anymore..occasionally I get what I think is a craving and on those times I use the nicorette inhaler, I honestly think that little device has helped me quit.
I'm so happy and will never touch another dis...
Hi everyone, I haven’t been on here for a very long time. I’ve tried so many times to give up. I need help🙁 I need motivation & support with quitting.
I decided to write this because this wonderful concept, one-day-at-a-time, which has helped myself and so many others deal with drinking, smoking, over-eating, and so many simply unpleasant situations, is widely misunderstood.
To many it is no more than mental trickery, a dynamic. We are kidding ourselves, really, aren't we? After all, we may say one-day-at-a-time but we really know it means f...
I don't know what I am doing differently but I am still smoke free. I get up for a couple of hours most nights. I prayed about it every day. I was so determined not to smoke over sleep deprivation. I was putting myself to bed early each night. Then I would wake up in the middle of the night. I figured if I took up smoking because of lack of sleep I would never be able to stop. Lately I have slept...
Had been smoking for 50 years apart from a couple of short breaks...Anyone with a similar habit knows how hard it is to quit, besides which I have always considered it as one of the few things I do well.Smoking consists of basically two things - The Addiction to nicotine and the Habit....Sticking it in your mouth, lighting it, smoking it and sharing with your friends..Now the addiction is the eas...

In my quit smoking survival kit i have:
1. Kava capsules or powder for quitting smoking side effects like irritability. They have helped alot at keeping me calm.
2. Fidget toy sutch as a stress ball or fidget spinner.
3. Symbolic friendly reminders, i have a coin to symbolize the mony i am saving and a feather to remind me of my freedom of addiction.
4. Cuticle Oil and a good lip balm. Just ...
I started smoking since I was 12-year-old and had attempted quitting more than 30 times.
It was the most challenging and arduous task I have ever undertaken.
Quitting was difficult because I believed that I had given up a real 'pleasure' or 'enjoyment.'
I deprived myself of a thing that I thought would give me 'happiness' it was no wonder why I envied smokers.
But as soon as I unde...
Hey guys! I’m aiming to be quit smoking by the 1st of July and I’m wanting advice I’m defiantly ready but I want to be prepared. Tell me how you quick. 💕
I have a very hectic life very stressful which I would always head straight for a smoke and I don’t want to replace smokes with food.
I’m just wondering how people work through basically life’s challenges how they have worked through it especially in the first couple of days. Please I would love to hear from your experiences
Hi new quitters! Congrats are getting this far in your quit. I often see new quitters ask when it will get better. My pro opinion (and at 32 months I’m allowed to have one) is that things start to mentally improve on Day 8. Day one is fairly easy. Day two makes you wonder if you can do this. Day three is the WORST because your brain just figured out what’s going on. Day four your brain is hav...

I have been quit of all smokes for 290 days it's been a while since i last posted but wanted to share my experience it seems to me i can not smoke but i have to of had a drink of alcohol. It seems to me that if i run out of alcohol then i'd relapse and start smoking again as alcohol withdrawal is pretty bad but still smoke free and feels good my lungs are alot better now. When i was smoking i wa...
I have slipped an few times trying to quit. But i would always start again week later to quit. So far so good on my 4th day.
Thanks for all your stories, everyone... VERy enlightening... time for plan B (or whatever, did not keep track.) I did notice that the lozenges were only lasting about 2 hours before feeling irritable and anxious again, and I can't seen to go for longer periods. I now know that many others have been on them for years, and that is a real eye-opener as far as my chances of getting off these gradu...
Well, two years ago today, I snuffed out my last smoke.. It is still Feb, 15th here. You folks, down under, will be reading this on my tomorrow, but I'm writing it on your yesterday :)
The best tip, I can give to new comers, is to realize, this does not have to be a journey. You do not have to stay quit. It does not have to be a life long battle. You simply have to real...
Giving up this Monday for good. Want to be here for my kids weddings
It is so hard to find a way to remove yourself from the smoking triggers. I booked a cruise for 3 days and left the smokes behind. This was a completely foreign environment to me and helped me not only with the triggers but also the inability to buy smokes onboard as this was a domestic cruise and no duty free shopping allowed.
I smoked 60+ cigarettes a day for over 30 years and had tried many times to give up, but just couldn't stay off them.
Finally I found a strategy that worked and I have now been smoke-free for 18 years. What I did was:
1. Set my intention to give up as soon as I felt I could. I reinforced this by thinking about how things would be better if I did. More money. Less smelly. Better health. No hassl...
