I need help
What I didn't realize when I quit smoking was how much time I was losing by smoking. Not just the time at the end of life but the time during my life. I smoked about 25 cigs a day which took about 10 minuets per cig. That's over 4 hours a day wasted. I think this is one of the reasons quieting is so hard. You sit around with all that spare time with nothing to do but wish you had a cig. Time for...

In my quit smoking survival kit i have:
1. Kava capsules or powder for quitting smoking side effects like irritability. They have helped alot at keeping me calm.

3. Symbolic friendly reminders, i have a coin to symbolize the mony i am saving and a feather to remind me of my freedom of addiction.
4. Cuticle Oil and a good lip balm. Just ...
I have a very hectic life very stressful which I would always head straight for a smoke and I don’t want to replace smokes with food.
I’m just wondering how people work through basically life’s challenges how they have worked through it especially in the first couple of days. Please I would love to hear from your experiences
Day 1 and I can’t hold a thought for more than a few seconds, except the thought that I’d like a smoke! I remember when my dad quit years ago. He’d stare out the window with a glass of juice in his hand instead of a cig. I’m replacing each cig with a glass of water, focusing on how clean and refreshing it feels going down.
Giving up this Monday for good. Want to be here for my kids weddings
I'm on day 6 of my journey and am finding that I am constantly hungry. When I feel start to feel hungry I drink water, my water intake had tripled, but I'm not thirsty, I'm starving. Does this stop? I'm trying to eat fruit and other healthy stuff but the volume will catch up very soon. Advice please.
I came across an article that was geared towards quitting addictions in general and nutrition. I believe nutrition was a helpful tool I used in my early days of quitting. Not only did it help physically, but it was a commitment to a "lifestyle" change that supported my endeavour of escaping smoking for good. Here's the article:
IT WOULD SEEM LIKE A no-brainer that the foods you eat can affect ...
I am eating more than ever since I cut down on my cigarette intake for the day. My cravings for healthy food has increased due to my metabolism being fast when I was active. I am hesitant to just binge out on good food and drinks as I have a lot of stress and am currently not active since being in a motor bike accident last year October my smoking has increased a lot up until now as I do not have...
Ive been a smoke for 4 years now and i smoke upto 20+ smokes a day. I quit for 2 months in 2016 but started again at the start of last year due to stress from the violent relationship that i was in. I was adviced to snack on carrots and celery. However i am not a fan of these raw.
I have discovered raw capsicum.

Hi I quit also, using champix.
Few headaches to start with but no problems now as long as I eat before I take the pill.
I was not a long long term smoker, I smoked for nearly 2 years.
Still been hard.
Apart from using champix I just cut down from 8 to 3 then to 2 then none.
Also I gym everyday which helps with stress and I also ride my bike.
On top of this I had my partne...
Can anyone explain withdrawal symptoms please
I was a long term (40 yrs), heavy smoker (50 plus daily), attempting Champix for the 4th time. This time, instead of giving up after a week I persevered to let my body get used to & settle with some side effects which encouraged me to continue. I still had side effects, other than laxatives, I struggled & coped with the rest because I was determined. After a couple of weeks I only smoked 1 a day ...
I am proud I can now finally say I am 9 days without smoking. I smoked around 20 cigarettes a day for more than 10 years and after a couple of attempts I now finally decided to quit forever. The reason I wanted to post is to share my point of view regarding the emotional reactions witch all of us have to endure during our first months without smoking. In my case I could describe it as an emotio...
Today is my first day of being smoke free. I am going well, been to see my doctor and got and filled a script for patches. I have been tempted to smoke, but when I feel the urge to I use NRT and deal with it in my thoughts, and re assess my goals and reasons for quitting. I know I can do this!!!!
been easy nope, been doable though.
I do not have physical cravings only thoughts and that's where the addict lives in my head, so the more time that passes the weaker he gets as no is easier than yes.
I can not today think of one good reason to light up other than if I want to commit slow and painful suicide.
it hasn't been easy and I am happy for that as doing the hard yards really sti...
I need to stop for health and well-being
This idea is for all those who have tried to give many times before and needs to succeed this time.
Vaping is a replacement to smoking without all the negative cancer causing effects of tobacco.
This is the only thing that has worked for me and this time, I'm confident I can beat smoking tobacco for good.
Every time I have tried to give up, I was a mess for three to 6 months till I went bac...
Well here I am, a year to the day after I decided to quit smoking. 365 days smoke-free. There were times I never, ever thought I would get here. At times I thought I was going crazy, that I would never be the same. It was foggy and yuck and I didn't like who I was without ciggies. It felt like losing a best friend.
But I did it. I pushed through - and you can too! I don't care if it sounds che...
Look far and wide, however you will never find a tobacco company executive that uses the product.
They understand the science behind their products...
Never quit quitting. This time I won. 4th time on champix but I was scared of not smoking or what it would be like without them. I started smoking at 11yo am now 42! I guess I made the decision to hate nicotine and the way smoking ruled my time. I've had to give up beer too (JUST FOR NOW) cos as many of us know drinking and smoking ... Need I say more.
