So what is a craving? We hear so much about these cravings that it has prevented us from even thinking about quitting smoking in fear of them. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Fear can immobilize you into doing nothing, which can be harmful in itself.
Through knowledge and learning about yourself you can rid of the fear that prevents you from taking the steps to quit smoking.

I recently discovered that my old links for his book do not work. I did manage to find this page and the author gives a PDF link about three lines down. He also writes some brief notes about the book and what he got out of it. I have a very hectic life very stressful which I would always head straight for a smoke and I don’t want to replace smokes with food.

Here are my most effective ways I combat urges to smoke:
1. Chew toffee or a treat that’ll take some time to eat. Chewing gum is fine.
2. Think about the consequences of smoking and the fact that lung cancer is the deadliest type of cancer
3. If you’re a guy... masturbate. No I’m not kidding. It’s gonna get your mind completely off it and give you the dopamine your brain so desperately needs....

I didn't know what section to put this request in on this forum? I will be on 10 days without a cigarette but tomorrow is my Birthday and I usually go out with some family and friends. I have been quit of all smokes for 290 days it's been a while since i last posted but wanted to share my experience it seems to me i can not smoke but i have to of had a drink of alcohol. Hi everyone! I really need a tip on when to take my champix. Im in my second week & really struggling at work. I work 8:30pm to 6:30am & not sure how i should be taking the day & night tablets. Is anyone else in the same boat? Anyone previously been through this? At the moment i get home in the morning & take my day tablet & then take my night one before heading to work. When I told myself that cigarettes were not friends it was easier to turn my back on them. Tip was given to me by Quitline person. I would get stressed then the internal dialogue was. No they won't help me they're hurting me and then I'd ring someone who'd care. It is so hard to find a way to remove yourself from the smoking triggers. I booked a cruise for 3 days and left the smokes behind. This was a completely foreign environment to me and helped me not only with the triggers but also the inability to buy smokes onboard as this was a domestic cruise and no duty free shopping allowed.

To be a non smoker is very trendy these days which is so great. Take it one day at a time, there is no fast track, just one day at a time.
