There is no good reason for anyone to smoke
My key motivation if you like to give up smoking was increased energy. I haven’t smoked for 3 weeks and have no intention of returning to smoking. However- my main motivation hasn’t transpired and isn’t true- i have less energy and I am exhausted.

U.K. Health care professionals although well meaning often extol the benefits of quitting whilst trivialising the withdrawal symptoms.
I understand they do this to encourage quit attempts.
I also understand many are reading from a script and have never smoked themselves.

I find it useful not to dwell or ruminate in thoughts of smoking- in effect remove it from my mind.
Eat sleep watch tv cook do anything to push the thoughts out of your mind.

I have found that NRT works for me, approximately 6 days in to a forever quit.
Have reached 80 days nic free. I decided to go cold turkey this time around after failed attempts with nrt. I don't know if I read it here or somewhere else but what has made all the difference for me this time around is to consider myself a non smoker from the beginning and not a smoker that is trying to quit. My tip for quitting the smokes is just to Do it ! And follow the simple philosophy of NOPE meaning not one puff ever. This forum is one of my better discoveries I think it’s very helpful.
